Lovely old house. Lovely decorated room. Good size en suite, spotless.Comfy bed. Beautiful surrounds, busy on weekends with golfers. Well cooked breakfast. Lots to do in orange. Cooks Park, the Botanical gardens, lots of cafes and good dinner options.

We stayed for 2 nights on their Heritage package which includes a deluxe room, breakfast daily, a wine tasting with cheese board and two course dinner. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating and all meals and wines were great. Some rooms have not been refurbished so pick one that has. Would recommend this place and will definitely come back again.

Very poor in every way, inadequate room with no wardrobe, no clothes cupboard, nowhere to put clothes, bathroom basic with nowhere to put even a toilet bag, steep stairs to first floor room, no help with luggage, not a hotel just a room over a golf club.

Unfortunately this venue was disappointing and overpriced. There was a lack of a confirming email for the booking. Definitely below standard. The venue looks fantastic from the front but internally it is very tired and in need of a heritage friendly major renovation, Untidy exposed wiring for the TV accompanied by a retro rabbit ears internal aerial, cheap and nasty white melamine furniture, a bedside light that didn't work, a bathroom door that couldn't be shut from the outside, ( amazingly there was no external door knob, ) a separate 1970's heater and air conditioner, all combined to smash the a**osphere of a magnificent heritage building. I visited here in the 1980's and the experience was completely different. No feeling of neglect but rather it being a privilege to stay. In those time there was a separate dining room for guests, creating a feeling of exclusiveness, now you share the facilities of the golf club. On the positive side of things the bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and the breakfast was excellent. Despite the negatives I enjoyed my stay. This ambience of the venue with its beautiful grounds and views from the upper verandah has something about it and shows so much potential. It's almost as if the building is fighting back against the neglect shown to it. I payed $204 midweek. Not good value in my opinion. 🍻

The food was tremendous, staff were great. Room comfy. Golf unavailable Sat, a pool or gym would be nice.

The a**osphere is excellent. We are 81 year olds. On arrival (raining) it was a little confusing as to the check-in, having to go to an area remote from the entrance. We were assisted by a house staff person who had to take us through a meeting to get to the reception desk. No one to take our cases up two flights of stairs, none was offered. The food was excellent, the wine tasting above expectations as was room 3. The female staff on Wednesday evening was very pleasant, but the male waiting staff really needs to take a course in customer relationship and learn to smile. Thursday staff both male and female were very pleasant and efficient. Breakfast on both days was exceptional as were the staff. A special thank you to the lady from the kitchen who complemented my piano playing and a special BIG thank you to Leesa who assisted us by carrying our cases down the stairs on leaving. I would recommend this venue but for older guests think about the stairs.

It is beautifully old world and very quiet. The outlook is spectacular

We didn’t have a good experience the tv had no picture, there was tea and coffee but no milk. It was awkward to get to room with steep steps. The dining room and meal was wonderful, with friendly staff.

A great Heritage guest house located on the Orange Golf Club, who own the house. We paid for the package; 2 nights accommodation, 2 breakfasts and one dinner, together with tasting of local wines and cheese etc. We could not fault the quality of the food and wines and the staff were always keen to make our stay pleasant. Our room (number 2) was ok, overlooking the putting green and comprising of a King bed, with 2 single Kings in a separate room. However, should you have any physical issues, don't bother with this guesthouse! When you enter the house, there is a very large set of stairs that must be accessed, regardless of the location of your room. In our case, after the first set of stairs, there is a second set of stairs, a hallway walk and then a very narrow set of stairs DOWN to number 2. Carrying bags etc., was very difficult! The guesthouse requires a major renovation which must include a lift! Overall, our stay was pleasant, however we will not return until access to the rooms is made easier.
