Hotel Grand Coeur Latin

Latin Quarter Paris|0.07km from Paris-Sorbonne University
To make it easy, here is a list of pros and cons: Pro: - Location Cons: - When we checked in, there was no “Welcome to our hotel” greeting or some information on the area. - Our first room had a bad moldy smell, along with looking out of date and worn. - So we changed rooms, this time there was no smell but other things... - Room doesn’t look anything like the pictures on hotels.com, rooms look outdated. - The furniture looks very worn. - No tea kettle provided, no complimentary water, coffee, tea. - No fridge in room. - Phone doesn’t work. - Bathroom toilet is cold and separate from the shower with no heat (they are literally across the room from each other). - The toilet flushes randomly. - Shower door doesn’t close due to a hanging mirror. - Slight mold on the shower due to poor ventilation. The fan hasn’t been cleaned in what looks like ages. - We didn’t have toiletries provided until we asked, and because the phone didn't work we had to walk down to reception. - Pillows are so flat. - Can’t adjust the temperature in the room to AC for example as the digital dial says Central Heat. - The bed doesn’t have a fix frame to a headboard. Instead it is just on a rolling metal frame so it moves. - The light from the hallway is not dimable and does not have motion detection, so penetrates into the room at night which sucks because you always have bright light coming through... can’t sleep well. - WiFi was weak. Tried watching Netflix at night and the signal kept cutting off. We would not recommend this hotel. If we could have changed hotels entirely, we would have but we were staying for the New Year so finding another hotel on short notice was something we didn't want to spend our time doing.

I have just got back from my trip to Paris where I stayed in this hotel. The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was nice, not many options but there was some nice food. However, we stayed in the room 106 which was situated right opposite a bar that closed at 3am! It was the loudest bar near us which was typical. I know it’s not the hotels fault but just bare in mind when you book, see if you can specify which room. Unfortunately the hotel staff on the night shift wasn’t very helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and we were told we couldn’t swap rooms either night! We asked on multiple occasions and their response was ask in the morning. I just wanted to let people know as I didn’t sleep a wink the whole trip and don’t want the same for any one else.

Let's be frank, the best thing I like in this hotel is it's location. It's located very near to RER B Luxembourg station and everything is there. You get to the metro by 2-3mins walk, there are restaurants around the area. I even found a Japanese restaurant nearby! Down the hotel, there is like a small park and several brassiere :) let's not forget Pret a Manger where I grab my coffee and croissant or pain au chocolat for breakfast. So it was really a good choice since I stayed here for a week and it's very accessible for my business trip. Having said that, let's not forget that the hotel itself is very nice, it's beautiful, it's clean. Everyday I get my room cleaned, so whenever I come back to the hotel, I had a brand new room. It's quite pricey compared to other hotel but it is indeed reasonable since you get what you pay for. Will definitely book here again once I am back to Paris. I think I got a room upgrade since I stayed here for a week. Thank you and keep it up!

I booked a room for 3 people (3 single beds) for more than 1300 a night. The sanitation is OK. The room is small. I am not fussy. I just want to say that I do n’t know if other hotels are like this. It is inconvenient to give a room card to a few of you. Contact the front desk below (the front desk is only one person, the small hotel), he directly said: ”even you are 4 or 5 people, also 1 card !.” (meaning that even if you have 4 or 5 people sharing the same room, it is still one Card) so I do not recommend this hotel.

I can’t possibly capture in words what a beautiful stay I had here. From the first contact confirming my reservation to the checkout was perfect! This was my first trip to Paris and they made it so special. I splurged on the panoramic view room with a balcony and it was huge! Gorgeous views of the Latin Quarter and the Pantheon! I ordered a half bottle of champagne to be waiting on my arrival but because of a misunderstood e-mail they didn’t know I confirmed the request. They quickly remedied the situation and arranged (after hours) for a beautiful set-up! The bathroom was spacious with a multi head shower and rain shower. And of course the very European towel warmer! A separate water closet with a completely automatic bidet incorporated into the toilet, including a bum dryer. It was insanely fancy. The staff was stellar. So friendly and accommodating. They even humored me when I wanted to speak French to them. I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful hotel. It’s in the perfect location on a quiet street in the middle of the Latin Quarter.
