Room was well renovated, owner super friendly and very accommodating, we asked for more water, toilet paper, different type of breakfast etc all happy to oblige. 10 minutes walk to light show, 10m walk to center of ancient city where most of the historical sites were. 10m walk to outside where the best food is..DO NOT eat inside the old city, food outside much better. Owner also arranged for car to take us to Wang Family compound and Shuanglian temple at much better price than I could find anywhere online. and private transfer to/from train station as well. Very happy I booked to stay at this location. Breakfast was EXCELLENT"

The room was spacious and very clean. Since the hotel has a limited number of rooms, the service was excellent and very attentive. The hotel arranges shuttle buggies for both arrival and departure from Pingyao Ancient City, and the staff helps with luggage. Breakfast is served for a long time in the morning, so you don't have to worry about missing it if you wake up late. It was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely come back if I have the chance."

"The best decision we made for our family trip to Pingyao was booking this guesthouse. The owner was incredibly welcoming; they contacted us the day before our arrival to provide parking information and patiently answered all our questions. They even helped us with our luggage both at check-in and check-out, which was really thoughtful. We also got a discount on tickets for 'See Pingyao' by booking through them, and thanks to the owner, we even got a better discount at Hongwuji restaurant than what was offered on Dianping. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the ancient city, making it super convenient for dining and sightseeing. What truly impressed us were the well-equipped rooms. Watching a movie together on the projector TV in the evening was such a cozy experience. The bedding was so comfortable; it was the best night's sleep we had during our entire Shanxi trip. Unfortunately, our time was too short. Pingyao really deserves a two-night stay, and we'll definitely book here again next time!"

"This stay was, arguably, one of the best hotel experiences I've had to date. **Cleanliness:** I can honestly say the cleanliness was excellent. Each guest had their own room in the courtyard, and everything was clean, with freshly replaced disposable slippers and toothbrushes provided – a solid five stars. **Environment:** No AC noise, very quiet, and the traditional courtyard setting was unique. The room wasn't huge but felt incredibly cozy. **Service:** Oh, I really want to talk about the service, haha! 😂 The accommodation fee wasn't high, but I was so surprised that they offered pick-up and drop-off service. A taxi ride there and back would have easily cost over 50 yuan, so I saved a good 50 yuan over these few days. Then, when I arrived, the owner gave me a big map and told me how to explore, where to go, what not to buy, and to avoid illegal taxis, etc. He was genuinely a kind and honest person. He even gave me a sachet, and the breakfast the next day was also good. **Overall Experience:** To sum up my entire stay, I really loved it. It had that cozy 'Northeastern heated bed' vibe, plus floor heating, a warm attitude, and excellent service. They even gave me two extra bottles of water. As a traveler, I usually don't review this thoroughly, but this truly was a hotel with warmth and character."

The owner patiently explained how to best explore the ancient city, and even gave us a bottle of vinegar when we checked out – truly wonderful! The courtyard is also very beautiful."

The courtyard is designed in the traditional Shanxi folk style, and they even have several vats of their own homemade wine and various flavored vinegars for guests to sample. The rooms are well-equipped, clean, and comfortable. They offer pick-up and drop-off service from the parking lot outside the ancient city for both check-in and check-out. The young lady at the front desk even gave us tour recommendations, which was very thoughtful and detailed. The young man working at the guesthouse helped us with our luggage throughout our stay, and we even received a parting gift when we checked out. Highly recommended!"
