Hotel U 3 Pstrosu

Lesser Town
A lovely traditional hotel in a great location. The hotel is right at the end of the Charles bridge so it’s really easy to get to all of the main sights around the city. We couldn’t believe how quiet our room was considering it’s location. There was lots of choice at breakfast and we particularly appreciated the free tea and coffee that was available all day. The room was spacious, and toiletries and a hairdryer were available. Would recommend.

From the entrance, to the restaurant, to the hallway, to the room, every detail was taken. There are no filters, no beauty, the most authentic photos. The facilities of the hotel are all old-fashioned in Europe. If you like this style, you can check out ~~

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the most famous attraction Charles Bridge, 2 to 3 minutes walk. It is not far from other attractions and can be reached on foot. Crossing the Charles Bridge is the old town. Prague Castle is on this side of the town. We booked the best room in the hotel, it is a delicate suite, very large, the inner room is a bedroom, the outer room is a living room, a sofa set, wardrobe, writing desk, etc. The wooden furniture is also classic. The toilet is independent, not in the suite, in short it is a luxury suite. To be honest, the breakfast was so-so, with less content, croissants, cheese, cold milk, boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt. It can only be considered full, not good. Prague is a place suitable for footsteps, not for driving. I did not find a parking space in the hotel. In addition, the elevator was so small that it was crowded when three people entered. There are more Chinese in this hotel.

The location is great, just beside the small town square, walk to the Charles Bridge for 3 minutes. The door is not very easy to find, there is no obvious entrance mark. The service is in place so that an apartment hotel with a 24-hour front desk service is not easy to find. The room rate included breakfast, because we had to get up early to catch the train, and told the front desk that we couldn’t eat breakfast. The front desk arranged the take-away breakfast that was prepared the night before, and praised it.

Absolutely outstanding location. Maybe one of the best hostels in Central Europe. In a very old building with bags of character and quirkyness. Has some of the “faded almost run down” atmosphere you seem to get in most hostels (Part of the compulsory spec you could say) but if it was given new stair flooring, repaint the walls and put up some little lights and place potted plants then the discerning tourists would flock here. Very helpful staff, and yes that location again. In the more pleasant Lesser Town side of the river you just couldn’t better it. Reasonable prices being a hostel in dorms or private rooms are available at still very competitive rates.

We had originally booked this hotel for Sept. 2020 but with COVID it took us 2 years to get there. Suprisingly the hotel gave a credit for the original booking, which certainly impressed me. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. The hotel is within walking distance of everything. Although its so close to the Charles Bridge and the hordes of tourists, we stayed in the annex and felt like we were worlds away. The food was good at breakfast and the restaurant was excellent for dinner. However, I can't say enough about the staff at this hotel! From the moment we arrived they gave us tips on how and where to go. They were extremely helpful. Finally and perhaps most important the night manager helped us navigate the ambulance service when my husband had a medical emergency. I'm not sure what we would have done without him. His level of concern was touching and I can't thank him enough. Even without this event, I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be in the heart of Prague but feel like they are in an oasis of calm.
