Rose Garden Palace Roma by Omnia Hotels

Via Veneto Rome|2.07km from St. John's University
We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Rose Palace. The front desk gave us tired travelers a warm welcome that made us relax immediately. Our room overlooked the back of the American Embassy with guards stationed outside 24/7 so it was definitely safe. The hotel is a little off the beaten path from the usual touristy spots in Rome but in a very quiet area. The room was very clean. We had 3 in our room and the 3rd person had to sleep on a full size pull out couch. It was comfy for a pull out (you couldn’t feel the bar under the mattress) but unless you put up the bed every day the only place to sit were the beds. It had a small fridge and the bathroom was updated but limited on counter space around the sink. The buffet breakfast was geared toward a variety of tastes. Scrambled eggs, a variety of pastries, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, etc. When the weather was nice we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden. There is a tiny grocery store called Co-op around the corner where you can buy the basics. Also on the next block is an ATM in the alcove of the bank entrance that seemed secure to use. Reading older reviews we thought there was a restaurant in the hotel serving dinner but it turned out to just be a small bar. So we walked a couple of blocks north and ate at Cesarina and enjoyed a good meal and friendly staff. There were a lot of other restaurants to pick from in a 2-3 block radius. The ones on Via Vittorio Veneto appeared to be more expensive than the ones northeast of the hotel. There is a taxi stand a couple of blocks away and we used both Uber and inTaxi for rides back to the hotel.

It was a perfect stay for Rome. Located very centrally (only 15 walk to piazza navona and vatican) this little “hotel” is on the 2nd or 3rd floor of an apartment. It has 3 rooms only. We have been contacted by the gentleman who helped us check in, a day before our arrival; helped us through on how to find the building; met us there on time and kept our luggages until our room was ready. The room we stayed in was spacious, modern, newly furnished and elegant. Everything in the room worked perfectly we even had usb mobile chargers on both sides of the bed which is a big plus. They have a coffee machine in the room and complimentary coffee capsules every day; a fridge, a safe everything you can think of in a proper hotel room. The shower was in very good condition, there was an air conditioner, a smart tv etc. Check in and check out processes were smooth. The only downside is there’s no reception, even though there’s a reception desk and you get all the help you need when checking in, you still feel a little abandoned since it is a hotel and not an airbnb. There’s two good bakery right outside the building which was very convenient for breakfast. Overall and in detail we recommend Pietra very much and wont be staying in any other place for our next visit to Rome.

Spartan, spotless, wonderful and helpful staff, and a well-located, European-style hotel. In an area of many schools and students. The other guests are often German-speaking and students. The friendly and competent front desk staff can provide services in English. Go to the rooftop patio with your own bottle of wine! Buy glasses of wine (3 Euros) at the hotel - it is an honour system for payment. Take public busses - the stop is 1-2 blocks away - directly to historic and tourist sites (Examples: bus 87 to the Colosseum/Forum/Paletine Hill.; bus 280 stops in front of the Vatican). Only 2 negatives are: 1. no refrigerator in the room and; 2. room temperature is centrally controlled (so you cannot adjust it).

The hotel is not big, the facilities are a bit old, but the location is good, the hotel staff are friendly, this is the reason we stayed again.
