Scenic Hotels in Dali City

"Stayed here for 2 nights, but in two different rooms, so I got to experience both. Overall, the hotel has a great view and a generally comfortable stay. It is a bit far from most main attractions, although it is relatively close to the railway station. There is a nearby bus station (Line 6), but getting to the Ancient Town and other popular areas is still quite far, so using Didi is often the easier option. The lobby also provides tea, coffee, and water, which is a nice touch. My first room was on the 2nd floor and felt very modern and new. The bed was especially comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well-designed — I really liked this room. My second room was on the 5th floor, and there is no lift in the building, so carrying luggage up the stairs can be quite tiring. The staff kindly helped me, which I really appreciated, especially since it was quite a lot of effort. This room had a nice view, but it felt a bit older compared to the first one, especially the bathroom. If I had to choose, I personally preferred the first room for its newer feel and comfort, but both stays were still pleasant in different ways."

"I first heard about this place on Instagram and thought it was so beautiful. Its incredible structure is just as gorgeous when you see it in person. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. It was so cool because they had a machine that translates different languages depending on what you speak. This was the first time I’d ever seen anything like it and found it very helpful as I don’t speak Mandarin. Breakfast isn’t included but you can purchase their set meals for 37 yuan and have it while looking out at the beautiful courtyard. If you need train station transfer, you can easily ask for it for 80 yuan per way which made my check in and check out process smooth. They also allow you to try on their cultural costumes for free. If you need hair, makeup and photography services than it’s 499 yuan. As a solo traveler, I decided to try it out. They were very nice, however I definitely struggled with the very white makeup since I myself am very tanned. In their defense they did their best with trying to give me something darker and in the makeup room it seemed fine. But with the different lighting outside and the camera flash, when I got my pictures back I basically had a ghost face 😞 The foundation also wasn’t applied to my neck and arms, so it was very apparent. I’ve asked the photographer to help standardize my skin so hopefully that helps whenever it’s done. You receive a total of 9 retouches photos as part of the package. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup or are traveling with others then they can take pictures for you instead. The place is very convenient for finding restaurants and if you’re primary goal is the visit the old town. It’s very close by, so I was able to explore easily and then return to the hotel for breaks when needed. Lastly, you can use their laundry machines and get laundry pellets for free. Ideally this is great. But I will say the drying part is dreadful. The instructions say to do the 2/3 rule. However, even when I followed and put a small batch of clothes in it never dried. I tried once for 1.5 hours, then again for another hour, and still nothing. That was probably the only real part that was frustrating."

"I had an early morning flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kunming, followed by a morning train from Kunming to Dali, so obviously my energy was completely drained. However, the moment I arrived at this hotel on 27 May 2026, the warm welcome from the staff instantly made me feel better. They even allowed me to check in early so I could rest and kindly offered me breakfast too, which I truly appreciated after the long journey. The hotel is super strategically located inside Dali Old Town — very easy to find, surrounded by everything, and honestly super cute! My room was amazing and so comfortable that I had one of the deepest sleeps ever to recover from the exhaustion! Before leaving, I even gifted my Nike Air Force sneakers, which were still in good condition, to one of the hotel staff. Hopefully they fit him well! 😄 Totally recommended this hotel if you’re visiting Dali."

"I've been to Dali many times, and each time I try a different guesthouse. This time, the platform recommended ”Yan Chuanshu Inn” based on my preferences, and I was drawn to it at first sight. It's located in the heart of Dali Old Town, in a relatively new area, and it's very quiet. What I absolutely loved was that the guesthouse has three adorable British Shorthair cats! Maikou is a chubby one who loves to lie on the floor and act cute. Tiechui is a Scottish Fold kitten, very clingy, and has the best personality. Gangdan is a British Blue cat, independent and very wary, lively and mischievous – as expected, you can only pet him when he's in a good mood [lol][lol]. Despite that, I still adore them, haha. My stay here was completely therapeutic because of the cats, and also because of the attentive service from the guesthouse owner. The owner has a great demeanor, and the service was impeccable. She helped me with my luggage and, knowing it was our first time exploring Dali, recommended some delicious and reasonably priced food spots in the Old Town [munch][munch]. Furthermore, the room I booked was really spacious, and the bed was huge – a Stressless brand, super comfortable! The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the overall cleanliness was excellent. The cleaning auntie tidied my room daily. The guesthouse courtyard has many flowers and plants, and the rooftop offers beautiful views of Cangshan Mountain ⛰️⛰️. I especially loved going up there in the evening. All in all, the accommodation I chose for this trip was truly wonderful. I think I'll recommend it to my friends next time～[heart][heart]"

"The Honglongjing branch in Dali Ancient City is absolutely amazing! 📍 The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Honglongjing Pedestrian Street. Step outside and you're greeted by a gently flowing stream, and you can look up to see the Cangshan mountains. It's just a few minutes' walk to Fuxing Road, the main street, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. 🏡 The ambiance is perfect! The Bai ethnic architectural style blends seamlessly with modern design. The courtyard with its flowing water, flagstone paths, and red lanterns makes every photo Instagram-worthy. At night, when the lights come on, the atmosphere is simply magical, giving off a 'Spirited Away' kind of dreaminess. 💁 The service is incredibly thoughtful! The staff are warm and professional, proactively offering tips on nearby attractions and local delicacies. Their attention to detail really shines through, like providing local snacks and complimentary tea. 🍽️ The overall experience is fantastic! Whether it's the comfortable rooms, the aromatic coffee at the cafe, or the authentic Bai cuisine at the restaurant, everything leaves a lasting impression. It offers excellent value for money. I'll definitely be back to Dali and stay here again next time! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟"

"The room was clean and tidy. It was really cold in Dali during the May Day holiday due to the rain, but luckily the air conditioning had a heating function, which was great! It's very close to the South Gate of Dali Ancient City, about a four-minute walk. The owner was incredibly warm and friendly, helping us carry our luggage both ways. When we left, they even gave us flower cakes!"

"The room layout was meticulously arranged, and the facilities were thoughtfully and tastefully appointed. It was spotlessly clean, looking brand new, which was truly refreshing. The view of Erhai Lake under the blue sky and white clouds from the window was breathtaking. The rooftop, stairs, fish pond, upper and lower gardens, and the music hall… everywhere was a perfect spot to let go of life's worries. You could take beautiful photos with a few friends, or simply sit down, enjoy some drinks, juice, fruits, and snacks – it was incredibly relaxing. Waking up in the morning, the owner personally prepared a variety of breakfast options, scientifically balanced, so there was always something perfect for everyone. Enjoying such a delightful meal, full of Dali's unique flavors, was wonderful. This was my first visit, and I felt completely relaxed, and my whole self was re-energized! It's a fantastic place for trips with friends or family! Highly recommend!"

"This guesthouse is located just outside the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The owner was exceptionally warm and helpful, thoroughly explaining nearby attractions and thoughtfully recommending must-visit spots while also highlighting places to avoid, which saved us a ton of planning hassle. The two dogs at the guesthouse are also incredibly charming – one is a chilled-out, lazy sweetheart named Huanxi, and the other, Shi-yi, is full of energy and loves toys, both providing endless comfort. The daily breakfast noodles were surprisingly delicious, and they even provided complimentary sodas like Coke and 7-Up. Dali's scenery is breathtakingly beautiful, and this stay was absolutely perfect. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!"
