Of all the budget options, Verona seemed the most advantageous due to its proximity to the sea. 10 minutes' walk to the nearest beach - a rarity for the Emirates (I note that you don't need to cross the road to do this!!! Leave the hotel, turn left, walk past the public transport stop, then walk to the crossing near the Sheraton Hotel, and in a minute you're on the beach). Most tourists consciously choose this hotel year after year for this very reason. The beach closest to the hotel, however, is not at all well-equipped (no sun loungers, umbrellas or public toilets), and is adjacent to a construction site, but this does not prevent you from spending time there on the relatively clean sand. Every morning the city embankment is cleaned. This is perhaps the only, but quite significant advantage of the hotel. I note that at the end of December the water in the Arabian Gulf is cool, the sun begins to warm closer to midday, and the tan appears already on the second day. In the afternoon it becomes windy, and by 4 o'clock in the afternoon the tide begins. In the evening, the coast is filled with families with children, arriving with their beach furniture and carpets, but this does not interfere with watching the sunset, it is perfectly visible from the embankment. Verona is located on the border of two Emirates - Sharjah and Ajman. And if you need to go to Sharjah by city bus, then you can walk to the center of Ajman along the well-maintained and illuminated embankment. It has pedestrian and bicycle paths, as well as numerous restaurants and cafes across the road. Within walking distance from the hotel there are several small grocery stores and roadside eateries. Chain supermarkets are located about 10 minutes walk: Viva and Nesto - to the left of the hotel, parallel to the embankment, Carrefur - to the right of the hotel, in a small shopping center on the highway leading to Sharjah. There is also an exchange office, a pizzeria and a cafeteria. You will have to walk about 25 minutes to the largest supermarket, Lu Lu, where you can buy locally produced goods, also parallel to the embankment. I used Yandex maps offline and never got lost, as the landmark is always the bay on the left hand side of the central streets of Ajman. The hotel staff - mostly Indians - are very welcoming and friendly. It is obvious that the hotel grounds were once well-maintained, but there is no trace of their former glory: the fountains do not work, the water in the pool is always cold, the sauna is closed. The only thing that is still looked after is the bushes and lawns. The bar on the hotel grounds is rented out daily to local residents for family celebrations, which is why there is incredible noise in the closed courtyard of the hotel until at least midnight. I arrived at the hotel after midnight, they checked me in right away, took my tourist voucher, and helped me carry my suitcase. I got room 107 in the first cottage, on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the reception. I did not sleep a single night for the entire week - the noise of the highway, music and the shouting of guests in the bar disturbed me. The owner probably doesn't care about the peace of mind of the hotel's guests, which is popular only among Russian tourists.
