Kam Leng Hotel

This hotel offers great value for money, and the front desk service was good, even with Chinese-speaking staff available. The room was much larger than I expected. The only downside is the location isn't ideal, but you get what you pay for, so I can't complain too much.

Wonderful hotel for a minimal price. They provided coffee and allowed us to check in early. There's a bus stop and a 7/11 directly across the street. The only downside is they take a large deposit, but it's returned without any issues or room inspection.

The hotel is great, affordable, and has excellent service. There are plenty of dining options nearby.

I booked two rooms (June 12-16) at the Golden Hotel (383 Jln Besar). This place is a health hazard. Their so-called 'premium' rooms had dirty furniture, bed sheets with bugs and stains, and a strong musty smell. My travel companion woke up with a rash on their back, highly suspected to be bed bug bites. We arrived at 3 AM and had no choice but to endure one night. The next morning, the hotel refused to refund the remaining nights and denied any issues. I've worked in the hotel industry for years and have never seen such poor hygiene in a licensed hotel. Do NOT stay here; you will regret it.

No fridge or wardrobe in the room, which is a bit inconvenient but not a deal-breaker. They clean every day and leave water and fresh towels. There's a kettle. I think it's a good deal for the price, but the decor is a bit dated.
