Great one night stay. Me and my mate wanted somewhere to bed down before hiking up Vitosha and this place was perfect. Krasimir was fantastic. We arrived late after a 3 hour journey from Kazanlak and hadn’t eaten so Krasimir asked the restaurant next door if they could cook us some food even though they stopped serving at 9:30pm. Service and food at the restaurant was excellent. We also had breakfast there the next morning. Although we were due to check out at 12 we were able to leave our bags at reception for the day whilst we hiked up to Boyana waterfall. On our return, Krasimir kindly booked us a taxi to head back into the central part of town. Really helpful with it being our first time in Sofia and our Bulgarian being very limited. We stayed with two young children for 4 nights whilst we attended a wedding in Sofia. The hotel is in a quiet location with parking. The staff on arrival are friendly especially George he made us feel very welcome and helped with our luggage. We stayed in the family room. The room was nice big and spacious. It is in need of a few repairs and upgrades. The sofa is dipped in the middle, the corners of the bathroom are grubby, the bath has jets that need gutting and the door to the balcony is hanging off and doesn’t close properly which is a safety concern. Breakfast is simple and not a lot was out although hot food is made at your request and room service is available. The breakfast staff were lovely. A young man called Alex was very impressive, polite and diligent. Such an asset to the company to have staff like Alex. An incident with the cleaner ruined our time here. We returned to our room to get ready for the wedding that we went to Sofia for to find the cleaners had turned the room upside down. They had pulled the sofa out and the larger lady with short hair yelled at us because there were crumbs from our children eating biscuits. She was very rude and refused to leave so that we could get ready. This made us late for the wedding. And it left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. My husband complained. And it was explained to us that they just want us to keep the room tidy. It was tidy there were just a few biscuit crumbs on the sofa and floor. We paid for house keeping and it was unreasonable of the cleaners to expect to clean already clean rooms. The fact that we were shouted out by the cleaner is outrageous. The lady with the short hair is a liability. You cannot shout and be rude to guests over crumbs on the floor and sofa. I don’t want to penalise the rest of the team for one hostile cleaner. The rest of the staff were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The outside area is beautiful especially at night. Lots of fairy lights. The staff are easy going and there is a play area in the gardens including a huge trampoline. There is a well which is covered so just beware to watch young children. The pool looks nice but is deep and cold. It would have been nice if it was heated but in September it was too cold to enjoy. Food is good and room service was great. Overall it was a comfortable experience and cost effective.

Me and my husband stayed there for 3 nights. Lots of dust in the room, like no one cleaned areas at the head of the bed for years. The same situation is in the bathroom, broken drain plug in the bathroom tub, mold, rusty stains. We had great expectations regarding this hotel. We do not recommend it. Three stars are for the friendly English speaking staff, delicious breakfast and central location of the hotel.

As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by a uniformed man, who welcomed us to the hotel and took us to the reception desk, having looked after our bags, which were later taken to our room. The lady at reception treated us with great courtesy and efficiency, and therefore, from the outset, we realised we were in a well-run five star hotel with professional and helpful staff. Our bedroom was stylishly decorated in cool shades of grey, with two wide beds, a panoramic window with a view of Vitosha mountain, and the marble bathroom was of a good size, with modern fittings and a lovely walk-in shower. We had booked the Club Room and were not disappointed with the newly opened Club Lounge. They offer refreshments during the afternoon and then ‘happy hour’ from 6-8 pm. We found the service really excellent, with staff keen to help, and spent delightful early evenings having drinks and eating an enticing array of canapés. Breakfasts were also excellent in the Europa restaurant with a wide selection of cooked and cold options from the buffet, and dishes cooked to order such as omelettes and eggs benedict. One last point to mention - we found the Chief Concierge - Todor Goranchovski - most helpful in booking us restaurants and directing us to some notable attractions in Sofia: he was great. The Intercontinental is really a top class hotel and we would not hesitate to stay there again - thank you to everyone who made our stay memorable.

Overall very beautiful structure, works of art everywhere, a feast for the eyes, the spacious rooms, but alas a bit dirty, exceptional breakfast with many choices, both sweet and savoury. A flaw in my opinion is the internal temperature of the structure, but above all of the rooms which, even with the climate on 13 °, could not get cold.

Sense Hotel Sofia has a five star but could do a lot better on the little things, The hotel itself is centrally located and an easy walk to metro station, trams stop and restaurants and bars, the staff are attentive with Prosecco on arrival a nice touch, we did arrive about an hour early and the room was ready so all looked great so far. We thought we had booked breakfast with the original booking but told not the case and we were offered a special price for breakfast which was fine with us. Breakfast was on the 9th floor with great views with an omelette station and buffet with a few cooked items and lots of other choices but you have to wait to be served your tea or coffee instead of being able to help yourself, which meant there were lots of staff milling around watching. Room was spacious and clean on the 4th floor with floor to ceiling windows making for a great view of the cathedral but only big shutters that didn’t block out all of the light in the morning. In the room there was a complimentary small bottle of water each and we could have one coffee or tea per day each from the mini bar which is a little cheap for a 5 star reputation, we have stayed in lesser starred hotels where tea, coffee and all that comes with it (milk and sugar etc) are free and refilled regularly or at request for no extra charge throughout the stay, so Sense lacking on that front. Check out was early on the Friday so we didn’t get a chance to get breakfast but they would not take it off the bill even though we hadn’t paid the bill yet which was a little confusing and felt like they were really penny pinching!

The staff at Grand Hotel Sofia deserves the highest praise for their helpfulness and attentiveness, going above and beyond to ensure my every need was met. Their warm and accommodating nature made me feel like a valued guest throughout my stay. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the spacious and beautifully decorated room. The tasteful decor, plush furnishings, and meticulously chosen artwork created an atmosphere of elegance and comfort that exceeded my expectations. Additionally, the room service at Grand Hotel Sofia was exceptional, offering a delectable menu of dishes that surpassed my expectations. Each meal was flawlessly prepared and delivered promptly, further enhancing the overall experience. Grand Hotel Sofia provided an outstanding stay with a dedicated staff, remarkable room decor, and exceptional room service. I highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable experience in Sofia.

just back from a three night stay at the rosslyn thracia dofis have to say I was really pleased with my choice of hotel in sofia the rosslyn is a minute walk from all the bars/restaurants on vinatosha ...location is fantastic....most other things to see a reasonable walk away check in was quick and staff throughout were very friendly room was well appointed, lovely comfortable bed and great shower breakfast was included and very good too....good choice of hot/cold menu couldn't recommend this hotel enough and would certainly return when I visit sofia again...many thanks to all

Sveta Sofia is a traditional hotel in a quiet pedestrianised street in the city centre. All staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful. The receptionists speak excellent English. Rooms are big and include a settee and coffee table as well as fridge and coffee making facilities. There is constant hot water and great water pressure. The hotel is very clean,including the breakfast room. Rooms are cleaned every day, towels and sheets are spotless. Its true there is no bar or outside space but it is so near lovely roadside cafes you really dont miss out. The breakfast is varied and plenty of it - self service but you can get an espresso made by the restaurant manager. Because the hotel is in a pedestrionised street, there is zero traffic noise. In fact there is very little noise as the bars are not in this street. It also feels safe here which I think is important. I highly recommend Sveta Sofia if you are thinking about visiting this lovely city.
