Hotels near Bang Niang Beach, Takua Pa

We have just returned from a short 5 nights stay, from 18th to 23rd NOV. We stayed in villa 8880, the Sea-View Double Pool Villa, which is an Adults-Only room that comes with your own private pool and a shared main pool with similar villas. We wanted an Adults-Only room/villa, and there aren't that many such options in Khaolak, and we are glad that The Little Shore certainly fills this much needed void. The other rooms/suites here do allow children, but for those who want some peace and tranquility, you will love the Beach-Front and Sea-View rooms, because these are strictly for adults. Upon arrival in the resort from the airport, we were warmly greeted at the entrance by Jerry, Tom, Nescafe and Tea. Check in was done in the expansive, beautiful lobby with high ceilings and an awesome view of the sea. All processes were quick and efficient, and after being served welcome drinks, we were given a short buggy tour showing us the resort's amenities, and before you know it, we're in our villa. During check-in, they will tell you about their own resort app, and for the sake of your own convenience during your stay, please do install it, you'll realize quickly, that almost everything you need can be done on the App, from ordering room service, ice, room cleaning, etc. All processes work smoothly, and for every request, you can see if it's received and acknowledged on the app itself. The Little Shore only opened a couple of months back, and everything is brand new, including the many newly planted trees. Located in a very central location, you're literally minutes from the restaurants and shops on the main street. If you're lazy to walk, they will happily send you out to the main road with a buggy, and on your return, just head to the security counter, and they'll call a buggy to send you back to the room. We do suggest they build a small sheltered area, with a few seats, for guests near the security area, so if it rains/ or if the sun is too hot, we could have somewhere to wait comfortably for the buggy to come pick us up. Breakfast every morning is at The Kati restaurant. They start at 6a.m, which is good, especially those who are heading out early for their activities outside the resort, and also great for those like us, who wake up early and have our breakfast early to avoid the morning rush, so we can have a peaceful breakfast. The selection is a mix of both western and Thai dishes, and the usual mix of breakfast staples. Special mention to the crispy bacon, which is a surprisingly common breakfast item everywhere, a simple breakfast item, but commonly done wrong by many resorts, either too hard, too soft or too oily. Here, it's done perfectly, it's so crispy, you can break it by just tapping on it with a fork. It's something we very much look forward to every morning. Had a wonderful stay at the sands as a family of 3 . Check in was a breeze as we arrived late at night due to a cancelled flight. Room was spacious however I did not like the layout of the room bathroom being very open, bed was comfortable , no issues with cleanliness - however some mosquitoes. Breakfast buffet was ok but very busy chaotic at times , we found it a bit repetitive the food options. Our daughter had the time of life at the pool,slides and playground it kept her busy all day. We enjoyed the swim up bar the cocktails were okay too sugary we enjoyed the happy hours at different bars at the resort we did walk along the beach 2 min walk to hippie fish bar and enjoyed the cocktails there more much better quality I believe happy hr was 6 to 7 there highly recommended good vibe. The gym was well maintained everything you need. We ate dinners at spinach, thenight markets, room service was great as well. We also loved the roti and fried chicken cart . Would only recommend staying here with children not as a couple.

We spent 10 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! An utterly beautiful hotel with clean rooms and facilities and the kindest, most helpful staff I've ever come across in a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with direct access to the 2.4km pool - this was a great feature and it felt like we had a bit of private pool whilst being able to swim all the way to the main pool. The pool also adds to the feeling that you're in a village community rather than a commercial hotel, as we made friends with our ”neighbours” and would see them from time to time when we were out swimming. The hotel's beach is clean and stunning, the sun beds are thickly padded and comfortable, and we made use of the bodyboarding and kayaking equipment on our stay. The restaurants at the hotel were incredible! The main ones are Ta-Krai (Thai), Sakura (Japanese), and Olive (Italian). Before arriving I was a bit sceptical at how authentic the restaurants would be but the hotel has ensured they've brought in the best chefs who could bring authentic cuisine to Khao Lak. The sushi at Sakura was probably the freshest and tastiest I've ever had (albeit, I've not been to Japan yet, but it's still better than all the London sushi places where we live and even better than Nobu). We loved Olive restaurant too, in particular their Sunset BBQ evening where you're spoilt for choice on meats, seafood, sides, salads, and a full-on Italian cheese and ham bar with really delicious, authentic selections. Chef Enzo there was dishing out cheeses to us and making recommendations what to pair each cheese with and was so helpful (and the cheeses were incredible). We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner package and we're really glad we did as we loved going back to those restaurants over the 10 days. For lunch we'd eat at the hotel cafes, or out at excursions, or at local restaurants adjacent to the hotel, such as Phen's (delicious!). We also bought a spa package at Quan Spa in the hotel and booked in lots of treatments throughout our stay. The spa is beautiful and the massage therapists were excellent; it's a bit pricier than outside the hotel but the spa environment is worth it for that luxe feeling (and still cheaper than in the UK!). Overall, I don't think we found and faults with our stay at JWM and we will definitely come back in the future, perhaps for our anniversaries! And we would highly recommend it to all our family and friends!

We stayed in the Deluxe Pool Villa for 5 nights. The resort is in 2 sections. The front section has beach frontage with a pool & restaurant, the back section with the Villa's is set individually amongst garden with a large pool with water slide & playground for children, then another pool for adults only. Buffet breakfast selection has a variety of options to select from. The villa was very spacious with your own private pool with 2 spa jets. Whilst the main pools close at 6pm, you can continue to use your own private pool. With warm nights it was lovely being able to cool off later in the evening. Our room was provided with 2 beach towels. We had a small private courtyard with an outdoor shower. Our villa had a split system air-con for easy control of temperature. The bathroom was also spacious with a large bath, separate shower & toilet, and vanity area. Villa was serviced each day. The bed whilst firm, wasn't too uncomfortable. In all our Thailand & Asia travels, beds do typically tend to be in the firm side. The resort is located just a short walk from the main street, so it was very tranquil. Buffet breakfast had something for everyone There are plenty of choices on main street for food options. Bring the low season (July), they were renovating areas of the resort, but we didn't find it overly disturbing. We would happily stay here again.

Wonderfully peaceful and laid back hotel. The staff are wonderful each and everyone we met. They truly cannot do enough to make your holiday special. We had a Grande Deluxe room on the top floor overlooking the swim up pool. It was perfect! The bed was huge as was the bath. Bottled water was replenished every day. The room was also cleaned spotlessly daily. Breakfast was a choice of fruits/yoghurts, eggs/bacon/tomatoes or Thai stir fry. Something for everyone! Bars are dotted around the entire resort. Obviously they charge hotel prices but they all have their own happy hour (actually it’s 2hrs!!). Time it right and a bottle of beer is 70baht and cocktails 130baht. It’s a 10 minute walk into Khao Lak and the start of a 1.5km ***** of shops and restaurants. Alternatively there will always be taxis waiting outside the hotel entrance. You can get these for 100Baht (£2.20). It’s 200Baht if you fancy a trip to the market which is a couple of km further. We left early at 5am and were provided with a breakfast box to take with us which was a nice touch. Overall we loved this hotel and will definitely return. Kha Lak is the perfect place to visit and Moracea is the perfect hotel to base yourselves. Thank you for making our holiday special.

We upgraded from 2 suites from a package TUI booking pool villa 838 costing about 42K THB for 14 nights in November and December 2022. 2 adults, and 2 kids age 17 and 10 so the privacy of a private pool was one of our highlights of the holiday. This is such a peaceful resort with beautiful surroundings and very helpful staff. Notably Emme, Gift, Mark, Tee, Big, Yuda, Tar, Pecky and Winai. This resort is not within walking distance of town / Biang Nang market area, and a taxi to go there will set you back 300 THB each way from the guys on the beach outside the gate. That's the going rate both ways so don't be conned by a chancer. In the resort there's 2 restaurants, one's a buffet and the Napalai on the villa side of the river and you can eat from both if you upgrade. There are 2 swimming pools, several bars and organised trips to temples, islands, local markets, animal sanctuaries offered from the front desk or holiday rep so you aren't cut off from civilisation by being in such a remote area surrounded by beach and jungle, which is actually a plus point if you're a surfer, nature or beach lover because this resort scores a 10 if that's what interests you. We didn't travel to Thailand for the nightlife, just to chill in some winter sun. There's ample entertainment just 10 minutes away from the resort, in town or Memories bar, but if you want boom, boom, boom and all night drinking go to Phuket instead. I'd definitely return, but not with children.

Overall a fantastic holiday experience. Rooms are nicely done up, clean and relaxing . Staff are warm, welcoming, super helpful and friendly . Especially Nu who took great care of us . Great breakfast selection and super yummy. Great setup at kids room which also catered to older kids with Pingpong table , ball machine, arcade games and other selection. Staff at beach station were super helpful, all ready to help , SUP , boogie boards and kayaks available for use without charge. You really don’t have to go anywhere , just relax at the beautiful Sandy beach. Kids also played volleyball almost every evening with other guests . Impressive fire show one night We will definitely come back here .

Beautiful resort with friendly staff. Mid-size ground so I could watch my kids going between the pool and beach. Room is basic without a bath tub but spacious even with extra bed, well maintained and clean. Ground floor we stayed was very convenient and balcony space is generous.

Was booked as a birthday treat. If you like organised activities and timetables then it's for you. On arrival they asked for passports, out to the car to get, then voucher, out to the car to get, then a copy of my credit card. Really was not happy with that and thought it unnecessary as they had details from booking as the room was paid for,it made me very uncomfortable. The main swimming pool was large but had only one place to get in so was a long walk. We ate outside the hotel at one of the many less expensive restaurants. Our view from our room in block 13 overlooked a dilapidated roof of the Thai themed restaurant, didn't compel us to eat there. The room itself was comfortable and clean and we loved the dressing gown, it's our thing. WiFi around the resort was good. Sunset memorable. A great place for families that like a package holiday. Not for us.

Despite being a long way out of Khao Lak, (one of the last hotels, 15 mins out) it’s worth going the extra distance. Staff so friendly and helpful; everyone in the hotel. Our poolside room was wonderful-space to relax and slip into the water and also spa jets whenever we liked. The big pool with bar near the beach was also a pleasure to be at. The food for breakfast and dinner was delicious and they catered for my food allergies very well. They gave options for level of spiciness for the Thai food. I had an injury and the late checkout til 6pm they provided for me was a final bonus. Highly recommend
