The Hotel Ilio Mare falls short of its 5-star rating. While the food is satisfactory, it doesn't align with the expectations of a 5-star establishment; there's a notable absence of premium seafood options like shrimp, octopus, squid, or freshly grilled fish. The rooms are adequate, but they don't meet the standards of a 5-star experience; they would be more fitting for a 3-star rating at best. The pool was a disappoin**ent, featuring algae on the stones in the 'waterfall' area and a yellowish color on the edges, warranting only a 1-star evaluation. While the beach is pleasant, the lack of a visible lifeguard and the poor quality of the sunbeds are concerning; the inconsistency of the maintenance team is puzzling. I initially considered awarding 3 stars, but due to the hotel's overrated status, I must settle on 1 star. There's much room for improvement to elevate the hotel to a genuine 5-star caliber.
