Budget hotel that’s close to the train station. Stayed here for a couple of nights for a weekend in Venice, and had a pleasant stay. It’s only a 5 minute walk from the station. There’s free breakfast provided that’s served by the hotel workers (light pastries and coffee/tea/juice). We had a Jack and Jill room that fit the four of us. There was one restroom and the shower was super small, but we made do. You can hear some of the ambient noises from outside, but earplugs help with that. There’s a 6 euro per person per night charge for the city tax that’s to be paid at the end of your stay. There is luggage storage at the front desk (which was open 24 hours).

This hotel is located in a great part of Venice that is incredibly walkable to all of the big landmarks and to so so many local restaurants. While many reviews say it is hard to find - it is not. Google walking instructions TOTALLY WORK. Look at signs on the buildings - they are small but there. The hotel e-mailed me AND WhatsApp messaged me before the stay to make sure I filled out the visitor paperwork / information they need. The hotel then e-mailed me the codes to get in to the building and our room. They do have someone on site - the house keeper is there in the morning through around 2:00 pm. There is no breakfast that we could see but we did not pay for one. The room was comfortable, the location fantastic, and we were very happy with our stay.

Beautiful stay, the place is truly gorgeous, it does justice to the price we paid. Breakfast nothing to say, excellent with extremely rich à la carte service. Excellent room with amazing frescoes, nice view and a very nice bathroom, shame about the restaurant closed at this time but we will definitely be back.

Beautifully presented, authentic little hotel right on the edge of the canal. We chose a room facing the canal and didn't regret it - when else would you get to waken up to see gondolas sail past your window from your 4 poster bed? There's still a possibility of enjoying this view if you have a city facing view as there is one table in the dining room for breakfast that allows you to overlook it while enjoying your boiled egg and toast too. Felt so pampered here with the owner even messaging me ahead of arrival as aware of dietary needs (coeliac) and having options at breakfast for me. Would definitely stay again. it is a perfect location if you want to visit the islands (Murano, Burano) as the water taxi for these is just round the corner.

We arrived via Water taxi directly from the airport to the Canel Grande's private jetty and drinks balcony. If you can afford the €130 25 minutes journey, and are new to the city like us, it's amazing introduction. We felt quite the film stars! Our welcome was incredible. We got to the hotel very early - 9ish and our room wasn't ready, only to be expected. So we dropped our bags off and headed off to explore and get lost in Venice for the first and not the last time over the next 4 days we were there. Thank heavens for Google maps! Coming back around midday our room was still not ready, which gave us the opportunity to drink Aperol Spritz - the drink of Venice on the Hotels balcony while watching the water traffic on the Grand Canal by. Mesmerising... When our room was ready our baggage already there, along with a bottle of prosecco on ice, and hand written note wishing us a happy 35th wedding anniversary. We chose a room without a view which not only saved money, but made us go out and enjoy the city. The hotel has plenty of seating outside and in to enjoy the view anyway. It's is in a cul-de-sac, that makes it feel very private, as few people go down it. The room are in the Italianate Baroque style. Very clean and comfortable. The staff are impeccable, friendly, informed and helpful. It felt like a happy place to work. Note: Due to the small seating area inside, the excellent breakfast needs to be booked. The number 1 canal bus, a 3 minute walk from the hotel that takes you directly to San Marco Square. We only once asked for restaurant recommendation (La Patatina). This was the best of the best of meals we had in Venice. But at wine starting at €32 a bottle, expect a bill of around €110 for 2. From The Hotel is a marvel, we loved every moment were there. Over 3 days we walked over 25 miles, of this grand and historic city, saw great works of art in several museums and churches but missed much more. So, will we go back? Definitely. And Canal Hotel is where we will stay!

Give this hotel a wide berth..the only thing going for it is it's got a boat stop outside. The room has no Aircon, despite it being advertised as.So we were forced to have the window open and got eaten alive by mosquitoes..rubbish and.junk left outside our window. Our power went.out and the reception guy almost blamed us and was very ubrupt about getting it back on..forget breakfast here, Go.out and find it elsewhere as it's the worst attempt at a help yourself you can find. Every morning we woke up to doors banging , there is rubbish left lying around, and the whole place looks like it's derelict or needs a major cash injection..avoid at all costs
