Just returned from 2 very restful weeks at Plaka Beach Resort. Very nice environment, staff, food, and the small beach is amazing. Lots of comments in other reviews around sunbeds! I can say it was not a problem for us - as residents you have the choice of a large lawned area which is slightly raised above the beach making for a nice view. We never struggled to get a sunbed during our stay. The business is definitely on the ball in terms of ensuring that people pay for sunbeds on the beach - when you explore the other local beaches and see the 4-5 rows of tightly packed sunbeds, you'll be grateful that they tightly protect the more relaxed setup at Plaka (my opinion). A lot of the negative comments are from non residents complaining about having to pay for beds, so factor that into your considerations if you're looking to stay here. We usually try to eat at a different restaurant every night when away, and there are a number of options in the area, but to be honest in terms of both the food and the view, we would probably just dine at Plaka every night if we went back. Koukis restaurant over at Agios Nikolaos also worth checking out. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking to really relax, not have to particularly travel to enjoy their holiday (I didn't drive once), and just enjoy the sun, sea, food and drink. The other residents were all also relaxed and pleasant, which is important when staying in a hotel for 2 weeks! When we return to Zante, we would not consider staying anywhere else, thank you Spiros, Andreas and family for looking after us!

A lovely beach restaurant that serves authentic Greek food plus lots of firm favorites too. If you eat at the restaurant then you can avail the sunbeds on the grass. The beach has some surf which the kids loved. The beach is sandy and shallow with some rocks to explore. Food was definitely the highlight- we took the recommendations of the specials which was stuffed aubergine and beef stew. Both were delicious and we mopped up the sauces with bread.

Booked the day before we arrived due to our flights to another destination being cancelled. From the moment we booked we were treated very well, with a phone call from the hosts confirming details. Our room was ready on arrival and situated in the block at the top of the road, but still very close to the beach. Room was small but very clean. Sheet and towels changed daily and room cleaned. Food at restaurant was lovely. Freshly made and reasonably priced. Breakfast had a variety of foods served to the table which always included fresh fruit. The owners and staff were always friendly and nothing was too much for them. Sun beds on grass were free, paid for on beach. The beach was sandy and the sea is shallow and clear. Perfect place for rest and relaxation.

Although we did not stay at the resort, we ate a few times at the restaurant. First of all it is in a wonderful setting. Just yards from the beach. The food was excellent and the service from Andreas could not be faulted. It was nice to have genuine Greek food, well prepared and very good value for money. Well done Andreas' mum! I would not hesitate to recommend thus restaurant.

Wonderful break at the Plaka beach Resort, Vasilikis with a very warm welcome. Early in the season, so very quiet, but suited me fine. I love the Greek people and find them very welcoming and friendly which is especially reassuring as I am a solo traveller. Food in the restaurant was superb with a Mousaka that was to die for, Andreas could not do enough to make sure it was always of a high standard. I have immediately rebooked for next May, which is not something I usually do, but it was such a comfortable place to be and the location is fantastic. If you want a laid back relaxing holiday, I would definitely recommend Plaka Beach.

Food was fantastic and reasonably priced (9-14€ for a main). Fresh seafood and the veg is grown in their garden...can't get fresher than that. They do lovely fresh small plates too, great to accompany their delicious wine!! It's at the end of the beach so it is almost in its own cove. Free sunloungers on the grass and you pay for the ones on the beach. The rooms are slightly back from the beach and do the job well. I loved having a small fridge with a freezer. Family run and although you can tell they are very busy they are very friendly and stop and chat when they can. Breakfast was simple. Changed every day, sometimes fried egg, omlet or yogurt. But, it came with juice, hot drink, toast and jam and something sweet. I came just before the season so might be different when it's busier. Would definitely recommend to stay or for a day visit!

I've stayed in this Hotel for 2 weeks on August. Pluses: - view from window - nice renowated rooms - they have very nice Garden with small intimite Beach where You can really rest. - view from restaurant - hotel manager was able to switch our rooms so our stay was much pleasent thanks to that. - very good kitchen manager, He was really trying make our brekfast better . - nice coffee during brekfast. - very good restaurant Minuses: - Blond, rude kitchen lady.( She realy made our stay there misereable at the moments) When my wife politly asked for cheease instead od ham for brekfast she put her hand in to my wifes plate and took just like that. not only this is disgusting but where is higine here? Also when She asked for little bit more tomato She told us that tomato costs 2,5 euro per kg and this is imposible. ( Yes, because I rented a hostel for 50 euro, not 3*Hotel for 142 euro per day? How much it will be to get few slices of tomato more, 5 cents? ) Also after getting back to the kitchen She was yelling angry something about us wanting tomato. This was something I have never seen before in any hotel. Of course It change a little bit during our stay in going days but Her comments on our please where alweys hearable from the kitchen. And going further with brekfast topic: Slice of tomato , slice of ham , half slice of cheese, egg/one egg omlet, 2 small slices of melon and watermeelon and some jems and honey on te plate is not really 3*hotel standard isn't it ? - frezer in our room was very load, we couldn't sleep because of it, we had to turn It off - rooms from road side are quite loud in the morning, - it's not hotels foult but neighbors rusters are awfuly loud in the morning . - hotel is quite stricte with there open Beach policies , open until 20. - You can't move sunbeds in to the shadow by some reason? - brekfast is only between 9-10 . I would say that hotel is not really customer oriented, rather stressed stuff oriented place. People are yelling on eachother there everywhere. - our bedsheet was changed once, on last day of our stay. - music on the beach during the day was very nice, but I prefer listening to the sea. So overall, I can live with poor brekfast and roosters but yelling on customers and this stress atmosphere is no go for me!!

An aggressive man questions all who venture towards this beach to denand money before he allows themm to step onto it. He explains this beach is a "business" indeed his business, and claims the right to extract money for sunbeds and rudely to turn away anyone who does not want to use one. This is a shame as other groups have worked hard to preserve turtle nesting sites on this coast and do not see the natural world as a means to personal gain.

I highly recommend this place to anyone. It has a private beach, very nice and soft sand, situated in a little bay it’s extremely calm and peaceful. The restaurant offers great food at a very reasonable price.
