This is not India, this is Malaysia!
Visit the place where Kuala Lumpur reveals the part of its heart devoted to vibrant and bustling India. 💖
Just 5 minutes from KL Sentral, you'll find yourself teleported to India. Just cross the road and you'll find yourself in Brickfields, also known as Little India.
Everything here is authentic. No "polished" tourist area—this is a vibrant neighborhood where the Indian community has lived for over a hundred years.
✨ What to see:
🌺 Elephant Fountain: located right on the main street, Jalan Tun Sambanthan.
🛕 Sri Kandaswamy Temple—you can't miss its vibrant tower.
🌈 Chameleon-like streets—the main thoroughfare, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, is filled with signs, fabric shops, jewelry stalls, and spice shops.
🍛 Indian Food:
Chicken tika, chicken masala, and mango lassi are always my top picks. While these are classics, there are other dishes too: lunch on a banana leaf, the legendary Pisang Goreng (fried bananas), and sweets like jalebi and ladoo.
🛍️ Souvenirs:
I bought myself some cool bracelets, beaded jewelry, hair oil, and a spice set for a real curry.
🟡 If you're going to a temple, cover your shoulders and knees.
Wear your most comfortable shoes that are easy to remove, as temples and shops ask for them.
Credit cards are not accepted in small shops. Small change is also helpful. Lunch: 15-25 ringgit
Garments from 5 ringgit
Spices from 10 ringgit
How to get there: Take any public transport to KL Sentral station, get off, and follow the signs for 5-7 minutes toward Jalan Tun Sambanthan.
