Feel the real South Spain feeling

Alhaurin El Grande is a town with a population of about 25 000 people in the province of Malaga In Andalusia, Spain. The town has a long history and traces of old civilizations can be found from there including Roman and Moorish remains. To my eye the town looks more Moorish than other towns nearby so I became interested and made a quick trip there. It only takes about 30 minutes to drive there from Costa del Sol. You have a chance to take the bigger roads from Fuengirola or Marbella or select the scenic and indeed road with steep inclines via Mijas Pueblo. The town has a very Spanish atmosphere. It’s definitely not crowded with tourists and the historic center is very beautiful but keeps its original and somehow even rugged style. The restaurants are filled with local people going through their almost endless discussions about the matters they are interested of.
