2D1N on splendid Mt Emei

Still wondering if you should stay overnight on Mt Emei? I would say, just do it. It takes more than 2 hours to get to the summit from the Visitor Center, with a combination of shuttle bus, 1.5km trekking and ropeway up. In order to fully enjoy the temple grounds when on the summit, I highly recommend an overnight stay so that you explore the grounds at a leisure pace and there are better photo opportunities when crowds thin after 5pm when they rush to take the last ropeway down at 6pm. The Sea of Clouds are best taken in the afternoon around 3-4pm. I stayed at Yunhai Jinlong hotel, clean rooms and friendly staff, totally recommend!
