If you’re looking for things to do with a group of friends or solo, I highly recommend this tour! I did it with ‘Motorbikes and tours’ with a group of friends and we paid for it through a hotel chain ‘Little old town hotel Hanoi’. It was roughly £220 for 4 days, including lunch, dinner and home stays. The tour organised a VIP night bus to take you to Ha Giang and organises the home stays, hostels and route during the trip. There is an option to ride solo or take an easy rider (ride on the back of a motorbike with a rider). You cannot take this trip with a suitcase and must bring a backpack or small bag for the trip, which can last 3 or 4 days. We took the 4 day trip and would recommend this! We would ride for 20-40 minutes at a time before a break and rest to take in the view, eat lunch or toilet stop. Each evening we would gather with the tour guides for karaoke and ‘happy water’, which was a lot of fun.
