Jilin, an underrated tourist spot

Because there was some spare time on the return trip from Changbai Mountain, I had a whim to visit Jilin City, and it turned out to be a pleasantly surprising discovery Jilin City is the only city in the country that shares its name with the province. It's not crowded with tourists, so you won't be elbow-to-elbow with others. There's the mysterious Manchu Museum, the filming location for (Amongst Humans) which has a real sense of the era, the Wula Hotpot is delicious, the cost of living is low, and the locals are very enthusiastic. It's a niche travel destination worth checking out Henan Street Xinxing Garden Xinxing Garden Dumpling Restaurant (Henan Street branch) is a heritage dumpling restaurant. You can start with delicious dumplings 🥟 with many flavors to choose from. Upstairs, there's a museum that's even more comprehensive than the city museum, with many replicated scenes, collections of famous calligraphy and paintings, and detailed explanations of Jilin's history. Hebi has a pastry shop with a history of over three hundred years, and their hawthorn paste is very tasty. Beishan Park + Manchu Museum The park is large with fragrant flowers and birdsong. In winter, there are many ice games on the lake, and there are temples on the mountain where you can pray for blessings. Beishan Park is right next to the Manchu Museum. It's small but quite interesting and worth a visit. It's closed on Mondays, so don't make a wasted trip. Catholic Church Jilin Catholic Church A Gothic-style building that's especially photogenic. When the bells ring on Sunday, they sound clear and tranquil, bringing peace to the heart... Jilin Meteorite Museum Meteorite Museum A museum dedicated to meteorites, it houses the world's largest stone meteorite. There are guides inside to explain, and you need to make a reservation on the official WeChat account. Confucian Temple Jilin Confucian Temple With red walls and yellow tiles, it's as magnificent as the Confucian temples in Nanjing, Qufu, and Beijing, and is known as one of the 'Four Great Confucian Temples in China'. Ice and Snow World 🌨 Although it's not as large and spectacular as Harbin's, it has its own charm, and it's not crowded. You can try all the available activities. Little Rime Island Ash Little Rime Island Although I got up early 🌞, I wasn't lucky enough to see the rime, but the morning mist swirling around the small fishing boats on the river was like a fairyland. ⭐️ Stay Jilin Wenjin Songjiang Bolan Hotel Jilin Wenjin Songjiang Bolan Hotel The price is reasonable, and the service is good. From the hotel's window, you can see the Songhua River, and at night, you can set off fireworks 🎇 on the river right outside the hotel 🏨, which is very beautiful. ⭐️ Eat I recommend Xinxing Garden Dumplings and Wula Hotpot. You must go to the Xinxing Garden Dumplings' main store on Henan Street, and don't miss the museum upstairs. Wula Hotpot is delicious no matter which one you go to, so you won't be disappointed. ⭐️ Transportation The attractions in Jilin are quite concentrated, so taking a Didi is very cheap. If you have enough time, you can take the bus.
