Most Beautiful Monument

The Lion Monument of Lucerne commemorates the sacrifices of the Swiss Guards during the French Revolution in 1792. The monument itself is beautifully carved on the side of a small cliff, but the surrounding trees, foliage, as well as the pond, add a sense of peace and tranquility to anyone who visits this site. Most of all, the area is void of any tourist traps or restaurants that try to profit off of the monument - making the visit very relaxing and genuine. Having said that, there are a couple of cafés around the monument if you need coffee or food. The attraction is free and a definite must for anyone who loves art. #lucerne #mustsee #switzerland
