Tongli 🇨🇳 Suzhou

A nice spot for a weekend away. Tongli is a small water town with nice cafés, handmade craft stores, restaurants and food vendors. At night the town is lit by lanterns and spotlights which make it feel very cosy and welcoming. Tongli is definitely a great spot for relaxing and taking the day slowly as it's a quaint town with temples, historic residences and cobbled lanes by the water. The food in town was generally salty and sweet and the people were very friendly. We cycled to Tongli from Shanghai but you could take the fast train, metro or taxi to get there too. There are lots of very affordable b&b options throughout the town, but you will still need to pay for entry to town at most. #watertown
