The 'Basin Village' of Jiangxi Jujing Village, a paradise on earth

Jujing Village was established in the early Song Dynasty and is located in Dananshan Township, Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. The village has more than 390 households and over 1,400 residents, comprising 7 natural villages and 5 villager groups, with 616 acres of arable land and 21,467 acres of forest land. In 2014, the per capita income was 4,500 yuan. The village layout is unique, with a profound cultural heritage, and is a typical village surrounded by mountains and water. It is encircled by high mountains and a creek that wraps around the entire village, conforming to the Chinese Bagua design of 'mountains behind and water in front,' and is known as 'China's roundest village,' resembling a paradise on earth. Jujing Village is the hometown of the famous Ming Dynasty official He Ruchong. The villagers are simple, honest, and hospitable. There are many ancient buildings and residences in the village, among which 'He's Ancestral Hall' and covered bridges are well-known cultural relics. Inside the Song Dynasty He's Ancestral Hall, there is a plaque personally bestowed by Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty with the inscription 'Huangge Diaoyuan,' meaning 'ascending to the position of Prime Minister, in charge of the world's great policies.' In December 2018, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development proposed to include Jujing Village in the fifth batch of China's traditional villages list. On June 6, 2019, it was included in the fifth batch of China's traditional villages list.
