The Roundest Ancient Village in China | Jujing Village (1028)

| Jujing Village (1028). Jujing Village, established in the early Song Dynasty, is located in Dananshan Township, Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. The layout of the entire village is unique, with a profound cultural heritage. It is a typical village surrounded by mountains and water, with high mountains all around and a stream encircling the village, conforming to the Chinese Bagua design of 'mountains behind and water in front', and is known as 'the roundest village in China', resembling a paradise on earth. The villagers of Jujing are simple, honest, and hospitable. There are many ancient buildings and houses in the village, among which the 'He Family Ancestral Hall' and covered bridges are famous as ancient architectural relics. Inside the He Family Ancestral Hall from the Song Dynasty, there is a plaque bestowed by the Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Chongzhen, with the inscription 'Huangge Diaoyuan', meaning 'ascending to the position of Prime Minister, in charge of the world's great policies'. In December 2018, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development proposed to include Jujing Village in the fifth batch of China's Traditional Villages list. On June 6, 2019, it was included in the fifth batch of China's Traditional Villages list.
