Sugar House in Yangshuo, lost in the dream of the Li River, where time and art collide into perfection

The rustling of bamboo leaves, the wafting aroma of tea, I sit on the balcony of my room at the Sugar House Resort Hotel, sipping a pot of tea, listening to the music of nature. The Li River is like a long-held dream for me, briefly awakening as I arrive at the Sugar House to glimpse its beauty, then once again immersing me in a space where time and art collide, deepening the aftertaste of this dream. Because it's sweet, it's even more beautiful. The Sugar House Resort Hotel was once a sugar factory that produced sweetness, and now it's a hotel that brews the perfect vacation life. Since its opening, the hotel has won countless awards, not only representing the epitome of luxury in Guilin but also renowned at home and abroad, listed by many as a must-stay in their lifetime. Time flies, and the weight and vicissitudes of time are awakened by the name of literature and art, transformed by modern artistic strokes into spaces filled with imagination and surprises. I like to walk barefoot on the spotless wooden floor to feel its textured warmth, and I enjoy filling the bathtub with water at dusk, lighting incense, and soaking in a forest-like bath amidst the tipsy light and shadow. The lush woods, the returning calls of birds, secluded in the mountains, hidden by the banks of the Li River, immersed in this picturesque landscape, ethereal and profound, intoxicating both body and mind. Every night, the turndown service brings some snacks, and the mini-bar is stocked with a variety of drinks, but I still prefer to brew a pot of tea on the balcony, listening to the sounds of nature. I also love to capture the rhythm of light and shadow in every corner of the hotel, to discover the stories of time and the beauty of retro-renewed design here, like a page of poetry lifted by the wind, inadvertently entering a moment in time. The most standout feature of the hotel is undoubtedly the swimming pool, where the industrial style blends with nature's beauty, making everyone who encounters it skip a beat. During my two-day stay at the hotel, I didn't encounter sunny weather, but the usual serenity, with incense as candles, making my own incense under the butler's guidance in the workshop, was also extremely romantic and poetic. To my knowledge, the workshop offers many local handicraft experiences, and taking your own creations home is a delightful memory worth savoring from the trip. Besides trying your hand in the workshop, the hotel's gallery, library, boutique, spa, and other facilities are enough to slow down time. The 1969 Bar's afternoon tea is currently featuring a 'Rabbit Dinosaur' galaxy theme, sitting on the sofa with sunlight streaming through the windows, tasting exquisite desserts, as if on a journey through time and space. The delicious food at the Sugar House Restaurant is as outstanding as the design aesthetics here, especially the sour bamboo shoot pizza, which is nothing short of amazing, and other delicacies made from seasonal ingredients are also memorable. Staying in the hotel, you can't feel the hustle and bustle of the outside world, but this tranquility is hidden within the bustle. Sugar House is close to the performance site of 'Impression Liu Sanjie' and only about ten minutes' drive from West Street, making travel extremely convenient.
