Xidi may not be as well-known as Hongcun, but its scenery is just as breathtaking, earning it the nickname 'Peach Blossom Shangri-la' and serving as a museum of ancient residential architecture. Its grey tiles, white walls, and brick, wood, and stone carvings are typical of Huizhou-style architecture. Xidi feels more lived-in compared to Hongcun, with the local life and atmosphere present everywhere. This season, one can behold the splendid golden rapeseed fields and wander through the long streets and short alleys of the ancient village. Recommended route: Hu Wenguang Archway - Taoli Garden - Dongyuan - Hu's Ancestral Hall - Jing'ai Hall - Xiyuan. Flower viewing tips: ① Arrive in the village before 10 am on weekends, and you'll find a less crowded, more beautiful flower sea. If time allows, consider staying overnight in the village; the scenic area is vast, with many points of interest. ② It's currently the rapeseed blossom season, and from the peach blossom slopes, one can overlook the rapeseed fields and the entire village. ③ As a museum of ancient residences, Xidi boasts exquisite brick, wood, and stone carvings, as well as couplets and calligraphy lacquer carvings that are highlights of the village. 🎫 Ticket: 94 RMB per person, free entry every Wednesday in April.
