Chongjiao Xingfu Temple Pagoda, originally named Chongjiao Treasure Pagoda, is commonly known as Fangta. It was built in the fourth year of Jianyan during the Southern Song Dynasty (1130), located at No. 7-0, Tahou Street, Changshu City, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.
Chongjiao Xingfu Temple Pagoda is a nine-story, four-sided wooden eaves tower-style brick pagoda with a helmet-shaped top, with a total height of 67.58 meters. The wooden components and the style of the pagoda body still retain the architectural style and construction characteristics of the Song Dynasty. Chongjiao Xingfu Temple Pagoda provides a transitional example for revealing the evolution and development of the ancient building's corner beam structure in the Jiangnan region, which is a process from a gentle upward curvature gradually developing into a high and towering one.
On May 25, 2006, Chongjiao Xingfu Temple Pagoda was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as the sixth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Fang Tower Garden, the landmark of Changshu
Changshu has Zeng Zhao Garden, Yan Garden, and Fang Tower Garden, all of which are typical scenic views of gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. Although they are all gardens, there are some differences, and I think the most magnificent is Fang Tower Garden. Especially its pavilions, terraces, and corridors are winding and varied.
Fang Tower Garden is a classical garden newly built on the site of ancient relics from the Song Dynasty, named after the square tower in the garden.
The full name of the square tower is "Chongjiao Xingfu Temple Tower", which has four sides and nine levels, and is a symbolic building of the ancient city of Changshu, built during the Southern Song Dynasty. The square tower, along with the ancient well and ginkgo from the Song Dynasty, are known as the 'Three Treasures in the Garden'. The architecture of Fang Tower Garden is all in imitation of the Song Dynasty style, which is not only splendid and magnificent, with the charm of a royal garden, but also adopts the winding and varied techniques of gardens in the south of the Yangtze River, with the complementing features of curved bridges, pavilions, verandas, water pavilions, rocks, and plants.
JERRY ARNOLD
Moat Cherry Blossoms
The cherry blossoms along the Changshu moat generally reach their peak bloom from late March to early April. Clusters of cherry blossoms set against small bridges, flowing water, white walls with black tiles, and ancient city towers create a picturesque scene. It is one of the must-visit 'ritualistic' cherry blossom viewing spots for many Changshu residents in spring. On March 25, 2024, the Moat Cherry Blossom Festival will open, offering not only the chance to appreciate the cherry blossoms but also a variety of exciting activities such as quiz games with prizes, Hanfu performances, and traditional Chinese makeup sessions.

The flowers at Fangta Garden in Changshu, Jiangsu have bloomed
Changshu Fangta Garden
The pure white magnolias of Fangta Garden set against the towering ancient pagoda create an ancient charm, making it exceptionally dignified and elegant.
The magnolias here bloom the earliest and most luxuriantly. There are several magnolia trees in Fangta Garden, and the most beautiful one is located in a quaint little courtyard, with large blossoms of white magnolias layered upon each other, blooming vibrantly.
The tall trees with their branches spread out, the flowers piling up like snow, and the jade trees shimmering like crystal, all set against the backdrop of the ancient Yu City Pagoda, adding a gentle and tranquil beauty to its simplicity and solemnity.
The drooping branches of the flowers complement the pink walls and black tiles, full of charm. As the spring breeze blows, petals of magnolia flowers fall with the wind, creating a truly romantic and enchanting sight.

Flavors Abound
It was raining in the afternoon, and the outdoor activities were not going to happen. Don't worry, I have already arranged the "Tianbei skills". I suddenly wondered what was "Tuobei skills"? When I arrived at the Changshu Fangta Garden, under the step-by-step operation of the staff, I seemed to understand what I was going to do next. Take a monumental skill is a very traditional handicraft. It is first applied on the surface of the monument with rice paper, and it is flattened and dried with a brush. Then use the toppings and ink to slowly beat the stone tablets, and gradually the patterns and words will be revealed. I am going to start, first rub a few on my face, haha. "Tuobei skills" can not be too heavy every time, the process of ink-printing printing needs 5 to 6 times, each time interval, it takes half a day to do it, let me quiet, I am making "prajna paramita" More than heart. I won't tell you, you are what I did, it seems to be ok, it took a long time.
[Travel Tips]: "Television Skills" needs to make an appointment one day in advance, and then the finished products that you can do can be taken away.
