Fangchenggang, Guangxi | Dongxing Self-Driving Travel Guide
Dongxing Self-Driving Travel Guide. Head south, hit the road, and just go!
Second stop: Dongxing, Fangchenggang, Guangxi!
Suggested travel route: Fangchenggang - Bailang Beach - Guaishi Beach - Wanwei Golden Beach - Dongxing Port
You must visit Guaishi Beach, it's incredibly scenic, and there are many wedding photoshoots there. The food at Dongxing Port is delicious, and you can travel around the entire small town with just an electric scooter! Food recommendations:
-Zhenji Seafood Porridge, Seafood Noodles (You must try the seafood noodles, the seafood porridge has too much pig liver and is a bit fishy)
-Three Sisters Grilled Meat Noodles (The grilled meat noodles are really delicious! They are my top choice in Dongxing)
-Three Sisters Chicken Noodles (I prefer the dry chicken noodles - they have a sweet and sour taste, and the Vietnamese bread is also super tasty)
-Rongshugen Sweet Soup (You can blindly go for the coconut milk ice and taro sugar - it's a night market, not open during the day)
-Menghuo Roasted Chicken (It's just simple fried chicken, feels average)
-Tianxiake Seafood (Go to the market to buy seafood and have it processed, this way it's cheaper)
Accommodation: It's recommended to stay around Dongxing Port for convenience in walking; due to time constraints, I didn't go to Mang Street in Vietnam, but those who want to can join a one-day tour, it's not expensive!

Spring Festival Trip to Guangxi | Taking Parents to Dongxing Port to Experience Vietnamese Culture
Took my parents to Dongxing Port in Fangchenggang, which is located on the beautiful coast of Beibu Gulf. It is the southern starting point of the motherland's land border and coastline, connected to Vietnam by land and sea. It is only 100 meters away from the Mangjie Port of Vietnam.
❤ Recommended Reasons:
✅ The No.5 Boundary Marker of the Qing Dynasty
On April 14, 1890, the Governor of Qinzhou, Li Shoutong, and the French official Labadi set up a stone agreement along the river border from Zhushan to Jialong (now Jialong Village, Nathong Township, Fangcheng District), arranging them in order. The first marker was inside Zhushan Village of Dongxing City, and the markers were arranged along the border line to the Dongxing urban area, with the Dongxing Port area being the fifth.
Address: Intersection of Xinhua Road and Hedao Road, Dongxing City
✅ Beilun River
Beilun River, the boundary river between China and Vietnam, is the mother river of Dongxing, with a total length of 107 kilometers. The Beilun River originates from two places, one of which is Beilun Mountain in Naliang Town, hence the name. In the spring of 1962, the famous Chinese playwright and poet Tian Han came to Dongxing and composed 'Beilun River,' which includes the beautiful lines 'On the creek stones by the border bridge, washerwomen face each other at dusk with their pounding sounds.' It describes the unique scenery of the boundary river.
✅ Dongxing 'Bund' Riverside Street
Dongxing Riverside Street, facing Mangjie of Vietnam across the river, has a history of several hundred years. It is not only the forefront of Dongxing's opening up but also the window of the national gate city. The Southeast Asian style architectural complex is the best embodiment of Dongxing's absorption and integration of foreign cultures. As night falls, willows bathe in the breeze, witnessing the curling smoke from both banks, the bright lights, the golden waterway with competing sails, and a hundred boats racing, forming a unique cultural landscape of the Bund.
Address: Hedao Road, Dongxing City

Another high-speed rail has opened! A super low-key seaside town, with an average temperature of 22℃ in March
Just a few days ago, Guangxi's first cross-sea high-speed rail, the Fangchenggang-Dongxing Railway, quietly opened. This is also the first railway from China to the Vietnam border, not only connecting the picturesque Liuzhou and the laid-back Nanning, but also allowing you to take a train to see the sea!
Because on the Fangchenggang-Dongxing Railway, there lies a hidden gem of a coastal town—Fangchenggang.
Stepping out the door, you're greeted by the vast sea, streets filled with Vietnamese charm, and a never-ending supply of seafood and fruits throughout the year, making it the perfect place to escape the crowds and relax for a while!
The town is very warm, even in winter the temperature can reach 20℃, and it's like spring all year round. It seems to be cherished by spring and summer, with clear blue skies, crystal-clear sunlight, soft clouds, and trees lining the streets always bursting with endless greenery, inviting you to sit under their shade and bask in the sun all day long.
The cost of living in the town is also not high, and you can have a comfortable time without spending much. An average of ¥80 can get you a room with a sea view, 2 yuan for a roll of rice noodles, 3 yuan for an oyster, and 10 yuan for 3 jin of Wogan (a type of citrus fruit), plus a bowl of seafood porridge with generous toppings for just over 10 yuan, giving you a mouthful of freshness.
The 580-kilometer-long coastline outlines the vastness and romance of the town. You can walk on the undisturbed beaches, gaze at the distant lighthouses, listen to the magnificent reefs and waves, and follow the quiet paths leading to the seaside... letting you see the sea in all its myriad forms at once.
1️⃣ It's not recommended to go to Baisha Bay, Guai Shi Beach, or Bailang Beach during holidays (extremely crowded), but you can visit during off-peak times.
2️⃣ Wanwei Golden Beach is recommended for its fewer people and more food, and you can stay in a homestay close to the sea, with the ocean right outside your window.
3️⃣ Fishing Village: Navigate to Leshan Ancient Fishing Village, it's very, very beautiful! You can rent a boat to go fishing, 3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ per boat. You can also go out to catch seafood in the morning, before 10:30 am.
4️⃣ Dongxing Day Trip: A border town about 45km from Fangchenggang, separated from Vietnam by just a bridge and a river. Check out Vietnam Street, Dongxing Port, and the No.1 Boundary Marker of the Qing Dynasty to experience the Vietnamese culture.
Eat:
1️⃣ San Jie Chicken Rice Noodles, so, so, so delicious! The dry mix is more flavorful than the soup noodles. Expect to queue for 1 hour~
2️⃣ Yi Zhong Sweet Soup, the 8 yuan signature taro balls are really generous, recommended with coconut milk flavor
3️⃣ Saigon Coffee: Drip coffee, personally prefer it with milk
4️⃣ Seafood: You can buy it at Wanwei Seafood Market, then find a roadside stall by the sea or on the street to have it cooked.
5️⃣ For those who like snail noodles, you can try Changhuijia, although it's a chain, the taste is really good! Recommended in a clay pot

brianna.likes.acetylcholine This is Guangxi, not Vietnam
At Dongxing port, you can see many Vietnamese people wearing green hats. It is said that this is due to the military complex, and also for sun protection due to the climate. Vietnamese people also sell a kind of food called 'duck egg with a bent head', inside the egg is a formed duckling, this kind of egg is said to be very nourishing. There are also many people selling Vietnamese slippers, their slippers are said to be able to be worn for decades without breaking, which is amazing. The shops at the port are all selling Vietnamese specialties, and the Vietnamese food is also authentic
The city bordering Vietnam in Guangxi | Fangchenggang
There is a city in Guangxi, one of the two cities in China that are both coastal and bordering, which used to be under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang, Guangdong, and borders Vietnam. It is closer to Mang Street in Vietnam than to the capital of Guangxi, Nanning.
This city is called Fangchenggang, located in the south of Guangxi, is a coastal city, borders Vietnam, and is the only city in China connected to the ASEAN sea, land and river.
Fangchenggang was part of the Baiyue land in the pre-Qin period, under the jurisdiction of Xiangjun during the Qin Dynasty, belonged to the Nanyue Kingdom in the early Western Han Dynasty, belonged to the Wu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period, and was named Fangcheng in the fifth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty because the local people built a city with wood and soil to defend against foreign invasions.
Fangchenggang City is named after the port, built by the port, first the port and then the city. In 1959, Dongxing County was once under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang, Guangdong, and Fangchenggang City was established in 1993.
Fangchenggang City has jurisdiction over Gangkou District, Fangcheng District, Shangsi County, and Dongxing City. There are mountains, seas, hills, and tidal flats in the territory, with many scenic spots, making it a very suitable city for tourism.
The most famous scenic spot should be Dongxing Guomen Tourist Area, which borders Vietnam and can go to Vietnam from the land port, integrating tourism, sightseeing and shopping.
Dongxing Guomen was built in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 400 years. It is one of the busiest ports in China. Every day, countless Vietnamese come to Guangxi to do business, and countless Chinese go to Vietnam for sightseeing. Vietnamese can be seen everywhere on the street, and Vietnamese goods can be seen everywhere in shops.
In addition to the Dongxing port, there are also attractions such as the No. 5 Boundary Monument of the Qing Dynasty, Ho Chi Minh Pavilion, China-Vietnam Friendship Bridge, and China-Vietnam People's Friendship Park.
In addition to the Guomen Tourist Area, the Wanda Mountain Buto Hot Spring is also a very famous scenic spot in Fangchenggang. This place is surrounded by mountains on three sides and is located in a secluded valley. The spring water gushes out from the rock crevices, contains a variety of trace elements, and meets the standards of medical hot springs. Many locals and people from surrounding areas come here to soak in the hot springs.
Here, a hot spring is like the Huanglong Scenic Area in Sichuan, the Baishui Village in Yunnan, and the Cotton Castle in Turkey. The spring water flows from the mountain to the mountain, forming a multi-level waterfall-like landscape, with blue and white interlaced, very beautiful.
In addition to the Dongxing port, Fangchenggang has another place connected to Vietnam, which is the Beilun River source scenic area in Fangchenggang, which can be described as connected to the mountains and rivers of Vietnam, separated by the Beilun River. There are large areas of mangroves growing in the river, and the opposite bank of the river is Vietnam. There is also a boundary monument from the Qing Dynasty here.
Fangchenggang not only has Wanda Mountain, but also the sea. The bay here is also very beautiful. The more famous ones are Jing Island and West Bay.
Jing Island has three islands, namely Wutou Island, Wanwei Island, and Shanxin Island. This is the settlement of one of China's 56 ethnic groups, the Jing ethnic group, so it is also called the Jing Three Islands.
Surrounding the Jing Three Islands is a 13-kilometer-long beach. The sand is fine and golden, known as the 'Golden Beach'. Here you can see the ocean, beach, forest and crane group at the same time, and the tourism resources are quite unique.
The West Bay is a bay in the urban area of Fangchenggang. There are many high-rise buildings around, the sea water is clear and the beach is soft, and the pier is next to it, which is a rare urban beach.
Fangchenggang not only has many tourist attractions, but also a lot of seafood, which is fresh and cheap, and you must try it when you come here.
If friends in the north want to find a place to live, they don't necessarily have to go to Hainan. Guangxi is also very good, such as Fangchenggang. The winter temperature is between 19-25°, which is not cold or hot and very comfortable. Moreover, there are not many people here, the housing prices are cheap and the consumption is not high, which is very suitable for living and retirement.
Dongxing Port is located in Dongxing City, Fangchenggang City, Guangxi Province, and its corresponding port is the Mangjie Port of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Nanfang High-speed Transfer to Fangcheng-Dongxing First Class Highway is available. It is 188 kilometers away from Nanning, 180 kilometers away from Halong City, the capital of Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, and 308 kilometers away from Hanoi. It is a national first-class port established in 1958 and one of the important ports on China's border.
China's Dongxing and Vietnam's Mang Street are separated by a boundary river, Beilun River. A bridge management line in the middle of the Beilun River Bridge between China and Vietnam is also the dividing line between the two countries' territories. After going abroad, you will go abroad and take a step back and go home. Xinhua Street next to Dongxing Guomen is full of Vietnamese customs and is a good place to buy Vietnamese goods.
All the way down to the south of the motherland - Dongxing Port. Here, face to face with Vietnam, a small river has become the boundary river between the two countries. The border people exchanged each other through a small bridge every day. The town is very lively, go to the Vietnamese restaurant to eat a snail meat, sour and sweet, and the taste of lemongrass~
People who travel to Dongxing rarely stay in Dongxing, and they mostly go to Vietnam via Dongxing. Moreover, because they do not need to apply for a passport, they only need an ID card to quickly pass the border review. The street is full of day trips. There are not many tourists who stay in Dongxing Port for several days. However, because of the opening of the port, the commercial street here is still very prosperous. There are several small commodity stores near the port, and the traffic is very large. Our original destination was in the mountain forest. Because of the rainy days, the natural landscape trip was cancelled, and the buying, buying, and eating patterns were temporarily changed.
Since coming to the Vietnamese border, Miss Vietnam and Miss Vietnam are very many, and most of the women on the street carry Vietnamese hats. It is not clear whether they are Chinese or Vietnamese on the border. Even if it is rainy, it can't ruin the enthusiasm of the bosses. The most popular one of the
street shops is the Vietnamese slippers shop, so there are really many slippers factories in Vietnam...? If you are very picky about slippers, well, then the various styles of men, women and children here will definitely find your dish.
The rest of the stores are only enough for you to go shopping, you must also have some fun from this lively.
