Recommendations for visiting Yuexiu Park
This place is a treasure of Guangzhou. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but there are also many historical relics waiting for you to visit. As one of the eight scenic spots in Yangcheng, Yuexiu Park has beautiful scenery, but what is more surprising is the historical relics in the park.
In Yuexiu Park, you can see the national treasure 'Zhenhai Tower' (Guangzhou Museum), which is the complete remains of the Ming Dynasty city wall and has a high historical value. In addition, you can also appreciate the historical relics such as the Sifang Battery, the Stone Archway, two memorials of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the tomb of Wu Tingfang, the memorial pavilion of the Hong Kong Seamen's Strike, and the Five Rams Stone Statue. Each place is full of historical weight, allowing you to appreciate the scenery and feel the charm of Guangzhou's history at the same time.
Especially the Guangzhou Museum and the only remaining ancient city wall in Guangzhou are also hidden in this park, which is a good place to understand the history of Guangzhou. Remember to come and see when you travel to Guangzhou or CITY WALK, and it is open for free!

Avoid the crowd in Guangdong and enjoy this tranquility
Want to explore more of the charm of Yuexiu Park? In addition to the common mountain climbing, amusement park, Zhenhai Tower, swimming pool and stadium, it is located next to Yuexiu swimming pool, which is rarely known to the public.
After entering the main entrance, walk to the right for about ten minutes, and you will find this courtyard with a strong Korean style. It cleverly integrates ethnic customs and is very suitable for wearing ethnic costumes, Hanfu, horse face skirts, etc. for photo check-in.
The path here is winding, the ancient trees are towering, the birds are fragrant, and walking in it seems to have traveled to a foreign country. In addition to taking pictures, you can also rest here quietly and feel the traditional Korean style.
If you want to avoid the crowd and enjoy a tranquility, you can take the subway to Yuexiu Park Station. Yuexiu Park is located at No. 988, Jiefang North Road, Yuexiu District, and is one of the must-see attractions in Guangzhou.
Of course, the beauty of Yuexiu Park is far more than that. It is a park full of historical heritage, and every corner tells the story of Guangzhou. Next time you have time, you might as well come to Yuexiu Park and feel that unique tranquility and beauty.

Unique Urban Hike
Between us we have traveled to many cities around the world and I have never experienced such an impressive urban hike as the Cloud Pathway in Guangzhou.
The Cloud Pathway is an 8 kilometer pedestrian walkway that connects several popular parks and landmarks in the center of Guangzhou.
Makes for a great day out but doesn't involve hours of travel. Suitable for all fitness levels and the best part is it is completely free!

I have never seen such a beautiful Spring Festival lantern festival before
This year, I spent the Spring Festival in Guangzhou, a bustling city that dazzles the eyes. During the day, I strolled around the city's appearance and attractions, and at night, I took a cruise on the Pearl River. I heard that the hotel I was staying at, the Oriental Hotel, was opposite Yuexiu Park, which had a Spring Festival lantern festival. After making a reservation, I arrived at Yuexiu Park at dusk. Despite the crowds, the beautiful lantern festival was breathtaking. It was my first time spending the New Year in the south, and it felt really good!

A mountain, understanding a city —— Huacheng Bookroom
Yuexiu Mountain, the starting point of Guangzhou's cultural context and the city's traditional central axis, carries the humanistic history of the thousand-year-old city of Yangcheng, witnesses the development and changes of Guangzhou city, and displays the splendid and colorful cultural imprints of Guangzhou.
The super-large "Huacheng Bookroom" in Yuexiu Park demonstrates the cross-boundary integration of reading with different fields, selecting 6 representative locations and N reading spots, from the dimensions of Cantonese charm, universal reading, enjoyment of life, traversing ancient and modern times, boundless poetry and music, to leaping into the future, innovating a "reading+" multi-cultural experience, allowing you to feel the rich literary aroma of Yangcheng in the thousand-year-old Yuexiu Mountain.

Summer Garden Visits for Cooling Off | The irresistible beauty of nature
Recently, the weather has always been gloomy☁️,
but that still doesn't stop the enthusiasm for taking the baby out for a trip😝
It's been many years since I last visited Yuexiu Park~
It's more enjoyable than I imagined! Everywhere is shaded by green trees, truly a great place for summer heat relief💯!
Firstly, landmarks such as the Ming Dynasty ancient city wall, Zhenhai Tower, and the Statue of the Five Rams are filled with the profound historical accumulation~
Secondly, the park houses the Guangzhou Museum, City Park Exhibition Hall, and the Natural Harmony Art Gallery💐, etc... reflecting the diversity of humanistic knowledge~
Thirdly, the North Show/East Show amusement parks🎠, the Gold Seal Playground (free fitness corridor👍🏻), lake boating... are really fun for the kids😄~
Fourthly, just the natural beauty of the lakes and mountains, strolling among them, is so refreshing💕~ For the baby👶🏻, even a small waterfall can have endless charm😂... Encountering a little kitty🐈 can also bring so much joy~
Summer is not only among the flowers and plants, in the mountains and waters~ It probably also plants a seed of happiness in the child's heart🌱

The 'Pursuit' arrived at this park
Among the parks in Guangzhou, Yuexiu Park is the most famous. The park is located in the downtown area of Guangzhou, very close to Guangzhou Station, and is surrounded by numerous hotels, so Yuexiu Park is always full of tourists. Older people will remember that several old spy movies featured scenes in the park, such as the spy films 'Pursuit' and 'The Secret Sentry of Yangcheng', both of which included scenes from Yuexiu Park.

Yuexiu Lantern Festival, greeting the internet-famous beauties
I made a special trip to see the Guangzhou Yuexiu Auntie lanterns that were previously criticized for being ugly. After several repairs, they now look quite comfortable to the eye. To be fair, the front view is better than the side view.
Additionally, I took the kids to many places, we saw the glowing whale ocean, poetry congress, Jurassic world, and so on. All were dreamy, beautiful, and very creative!
After the Lantern Festival, these lanterns will be removed one after another, leaving behind photos to commemorate.

The Lantern Festival at Yuexiu Park in Guangzhou is just too stunning
I saw the lantern festival in Guangzhou for the first time, and it really has a strong festive atmosphere~ The place is also packed with people~ The various lantern designs are so impressive! If you're looking for a place to take the kids during the Spring Festival, this is a great choice.
🧧Prosperity Fills the Home
The overall style is grand and festive, incorporating various Cantonese cultural elements, symbolizing good fortune and luck in the Year of the Dragon.
🍊Great Fortune
The lantern installation is adorned with 100 golden oranges, symbolizing a house filled with gold and silver, and great fortune. The branches have 11 parts representing the '9+2' 11 cities of the Bay Area, with hopeful expectations for a bright future.
🌼Floral Beauty of Guangzhou
The lantern set features the goddess of the flower city as the main subject, creating a blend of characteristic animals and plants from Yuexiu Park, and presenting a beautiful picture of harmony between humans and nature.

Spring is romantic
The Spring Festival is drawing to a close, marking the beginning of the seasons. There are clouds in the sky, fog in the woods, and spring among the people.
From Baiyun Mountain to Yuexiu Park, Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Liwan Lake Park, Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, and even to the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Taigucang, and the Canton Tower's Xiaoman Waist at Haixinsha, not to mention the popular photo spot Shamian, Dongshankou, and the streets of Yongqingfang, there is not a single wasted flyer. It's truly nice, a joyful Guangzhou trip.
At this time, the spring breeze arrives as promised, warming every blooming corner. Keep the passion, look forward to the future. Live up to every day the sun rises, and cherish every bloom around.
Spring lingers, the spring sun is warm and cheerful. Only those who have seen flowers bloom can understand the romance of spring...

Hidden within Yuexiu Park in Guangzhou is the Korean Garden
Hae Dong Gyeonggi Garden, also known as the Korean Garden, is located on the east side of Yuexiu Park, with a construction area of 14,000 square meters, comprising three scenic areas, including the Flying Dragon Courtyard, traditional Korean houses, and the Moss Vegetable Garden, among others.
The Korean Garden is the crystallization of the cross-national garden-building activities between Guangdong Province and Gyeonggi-do of Korea. The garden mainly adopts the classical architectural style of Korea from about 600 years ago, constructing the 'outer garden,' 'inner garden,' 'main courtyard,' and 'back courtyard' in the most traditional Korean Confucian scholar 'villa' style. It features buildings such as the Sejong Tower, Yulgok Pavilion, and Chasan Pavilion.
These attractions showcase the richness and diversity of traditional Korean culture, continuously attracting tourists to come and appreciate and experience it.
Today, let's share about the Sejong Tower. The Sejong Tower is named in honor of King Sejong, whose name was Lee Do, the fourth monarch of the Joseon dynasty and the second king of the Korean dynasty. Both in Korea and South Korea, he is highly regarded and revered as King Sejong.

To learn about the history of Guangzhou, come to Yuexiu Park
Recorder: Ren Guorong
Date: January 23rd, Tuesday
Weather: 3~8 degrees, overcast with sporadic light rain, light breeze, the coldest day in Guangzhou since entering the twelfth lunar month this year
Dress: Winter clothes, wool sweater + woolen coat or thin down jacket
Cost: Free for the park, 10 yuan for Zhenhai Tower Guangzhou Museum.
Having avoided the severe cold weather in the north, I came to Guangzhou, only to encounter the coldest weather since the beginning of winter here. A friend said that they were still wearing single-layer clothes a few days ago, but today they have to wear down jackets. Fortunately, the clothes we wore from the north did not need to be changed, and they were just right for this weather!
This morning, I arrived at Yuexiu Park, where the entrance is decorated for the Spring Festival Lantern Festival, creating a festive atmosphere!
Yuexiu Park is the largest comprehensive park in Guangzhou.
Entering the park gate, you are greeted by a huge flower basket symbolizing 'attracting wealth and good fortune', indicating a new year of rolling wealth and happiness!
The paths in the park are newly decorated with various shapes of flowers, making one exclaim, 'This is indeed the City of Flowers!'
The highest point in the park, Zhenhai Tower, has stood on Panlong Hill in Guangzhou since the early Ming Dynasty, enduring over six hundred years of vicissitudes, and is a landmark of Guangzhou.
If there is a city that condenses its thousands of years of history into existing ancient buildings, which building can evoke the local people's memories of Guangzhou's history? Zhenhai Tower is undoubtedly the one!
Zhenhai Tower is known as the number one scenic spot in Lingnan. The tower is five stories high and is shaped like a 'tower in the form of a building, and a building in the shape of a tower'. It was built in the thirteenth year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1380) by Zhu Liangzu, Marquis of Yongjia, originally named 'Wanghai Tower', and later renamed 'Zhenhai Tower', symbolizing the power to guard the sea.
Zhenhai Tower is the most intact, most imposing, and most ethnically characteristic ancient building in Guangzhou, standing 28 meters high and 31 meters wide, with five stories. The first and second floors are built of red sandstone strips, and the third floor and above are brick walls, with a unique and simple exterior. In front of the tower stand a pair of two-meter-high red sandstone lions, carved in the Ming Dynasty. From the top of the tower, one can see the Pearl River and Baiyun Mountain. In 1956, it was converted into the Guangzhou Museum.
To understand Guangzhou, one should start from Zhenhai Tower.
Stepping into Zhenhai Tower, the history of Guangzhou unfolds layer by layer before your eyes: as early as the Neolithic Age, ancestors thrived here; during the Qin and Han dynasties, the Nanyue Kingdom was established here, marking the first major development of Lingnan; in the Tang and Song dynasties, Guangzhou became a major port in the East, attracting foreign ships and merchants; with the arrival of the 'Age of Exploration', Ming and Qing Guangzhou became an important commercial port, and Canton was once seen as a symbol of 'China' in the eyes of Westerners; in modern times, Guangzhou, being at the forefront of adopting Western culture, became the earliest window to the West in the south of China; the brave and fearless people of Guangzhou turned this ancient city into a heroic city. Over thousands of years, Guangzhou has added a colorful and profound chapter to the historical scroll of Chinese civilization.
At this moment, standing atop the ancient landmark, listening to the history of Guangzhou, one feels warmth and respect for this city!
The Ancient City Wall of the Ming Dynasty
It is the only remaining section of the Ming Dynasty city wall in Guangzhou and is also the oldest existing city wall. It was built by Zhu Liangzu when he was stationed in Guangzhou in the early Ming Dynasty, and it has a history of more than 600 years. This section of the wall is a historical heritage of Guangzhou's city walls and, together with Zhenhai Tower and the bell tower behind the Wuxian Temple, is considered one of the three major ground relics of early Ming Guangzhou.
The cannons in front of Zhenhai Tower Square have now become a scene for script murder games.
The Five Rams Sculpture
The Five Rams Sculpture stands on Muke Hill in the park and is a key cultural relic protected by Guangzhou. It was built in 1959 by three sculptors Yin Jichang, Chen Benzong, and Kong Qiuchuan. The main ram holds its head high, with a grain in its mouth and a smile in its eyes, while the other four rams surround it, either playing or grazing. The rams vary in size and posture, with beautiful shapes, and have become the symbol of Guangzhou city, which is also known as the City of Rams.
Due to time constraints, I only visited the above, but I already have a general understanding of the history of Guangzhou!

Best half day local plan for Yuexiu Park
Located in Yuexiu District, Yuexiu Park is the largest park in downtown Guangzhou.
It is a perfect combination of cultural relics and ecological tourism, reputed for its pretty water and hills as well as cultural relics. The main places of interest include the stone sculpture of the Five Rams and the Zhenhai Tower.
There are five major gates to the park, namely the Main Gate, East, West, North, and South Gates. There are many buses at each gate with metro line 2 arriving at the main gate. In my opinion a half day at the park is all you need and I have the perfect plan for you.
Go into the park from the entrance close to the Five Rams Statue Parking Lot from there go to Tomb of King Shaowu and His Liegemen, which is very close to the Korean Garden. After following the path to The Rectangular Fort and Sailors Kiosk. From there to Guangfu Kiosk, then Zhenhai Tower. Pass outside the stadium of Yuexiu Hill, take photos at the Wu Ting Fang Monument, Sun Yat-sen Monument anx Ball Shaped Water Tower. Finally, then go up the small hill and to the Five Rams Statue the sympol of Guangzhou. (Don't worry, there are signs everywhere at the park, and they will guide you pretty easily.)
What is more, Yuexiu Park also provides an amusement park, swimming pool, gymnasium, restaurants, souvenir shops, museum, and art museum besides plant and flower viewing area.
Recommended Visiting Hours: About 1~3 hours
Opening Hours: 06:00~22:00 every day
Tickets: Free for the park, but some scenic spots inside the park need charge

Urban Park Guide | Yuexiu Park in Guangzhou
I've been to Guangzhou many times, but this is my first visit to Yuexiu Park. In the past, I was only focused on eating and didn't really take the time to explore. This time, I can finally slow down and experience the local urban park guide.
The park is very large, with a total area of 860,000 square meters. I estimate it would take a whole day to walk around, and there are electric carts available to take you to different attractions. I've heard that during the New Year, there are lanterns and you can enjoy the lantern festival, which must be very lively.
Yuexiu Park is one of the Eight Sights of Guangzhou, and due to my rushed schedule, I only had time to visit the Guangzhou Museum (Zhenhai Tower) and the Five Rams Stone Statue inside the park. Next time I come to Guangzhou during the New Year, I'll make sure to take a good stroll around Yuexiu Park and see the lanterns.

The 'Dragon' takes the stage at the Guangzhou Yuexiu Park Lantern Festival!!
There are really a lot of lanterns in Yuexiu Park, there are several lantern corridors, many of which are made from children's drawings. They are not as complex as in previous years, relatively simple, the best looking are still the main entrance and the large lantern groups on the lake, such as the ocean-themed ones, the popular beauties, and that long dragon is still very shocking, the world's unique Chinese dragon soaring into the sky!

⭕Check in that giant dragon and beauty, haha, you can see it in the photos, it's pretty good. There are a lot of people, if you want to take a group photo, it might be a bit difficult. But just looking and taking pictures is also okay.
