Jinhua's Mysterious Ancient Village: Yuyuan Taiji Astrological Village
Jinhua Wuyi Yuyuan Village: With ancient charm and legendary star constellations.
In Jinhua Wuyi, this ancient and mysterious land hides a dazzling pearl—Yuyuan Village. Here, Ming and Qing ancient buildings are densely packed, with wood and brick carvings so lifelike, it's as if one has traveled back to that distant and prosperous era.
Yuyuan Village, a village laid out according to 'celestial bodies and star constellations,' every corner is filled with mystery and legend. The 8-hectare giant Taiji diagram at the entrance of the village further highlights the ancient people's reverence and worship of nature and the universe. To the south of the creek, the 'Yin fish' ancient trees reach for the sky, while to the north, the 'Yang fish' rice fields are golden yellow. The S-shaped stream acts like a boundary between the Yin and Yang fish, dividing the fields into 'two Taiji elements,' creating a stunningly beautiful pastoral painting.
Here, you can experience the simple and elegant village architecture, with flying eaves and corners, blue bricks and white walls, all exuding the vicissitudes and charm of the years. The well-preserved group of ancient Ming and Qing buildings in the village, especially the Yu family's ancestral halls and other historical sites, are important windows to explore historical culture.
In addition to its rich historical culture, Yuyuan Village also has unique folk customs. Every year on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, villagers dress in Hanfu, release lanterns, make wishes for blessings, watch ancient plays, and celebrate the 'Dream Fulfillment Festival' together to commemorate the dreams and grace of their ancestors. Here, tradition and modernity are intertwined, allowing you to taste history while also feeling the tranquility and harmony of the countryside.
Jinhua Wuyi Yuyuan Village, an ancient village that makes people linger and forget to return. Not only does it have a profound historical and cultural heritage, but it also has unique natural landscapes and folk customs. Stepping into Yuyuan Village is like entering a historical labyrinth, intoxicating and irresistible.

Great hermits hide in the city, while lesser hermits hide in the wilderness
⭐Starting from Yanfu Temple and driving along the national road, you can reach Yuyuan Village.
⭐To be precise, Yuyuan Village is not a tourist attraction. It's just that you have to buy a ticket to visit large ancient buildings like the Yu Family Ancestral Hall, which costs 40 yuan each. Many villagers still live in the village, especially the elderly. There are almost no commercial facilities such as shops, restaurants, hotels, and B&Bs. The degree of commercialization is much lower than that of Yunmiao Village in Youfengli, and it's completely different from tourist spots like Zhouzhuang, Xitang, Zhujiajiao, Dali Ancient Town, and Lijiang Ancient Town. Therefore, you should be mentally prepared before you go, especially regarding dining. It's not easy to find a place to eat in the village.
⭐Yuyuan Village was established in the early Ming Dynasty. It is said that Liu Bowen arranged the farmland, rivers, and buildings according to the positions of Taiji and the stars, which has since protected Yuyuan Village from floods and allowed it to thrive continuously to this day.
⭐The village is filled with ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, with the most representative being the Yu Family Ancestral Hall, built in the middle of the Ming Dynasty. Over 500 years, history has left deep marks on the architecture, and the ancestral hall itself is a history book recording the Yu family and the people and events of Yuyuan Village.
⭐Yuyuan Village is quiet, serene, good for photography and strolling, but it doesn't feel like a tourist destination. Over-commercialization is off-putting, but the inconvenience caused by a lack of commercialization is also obvious, and this issue will trouble me throughout my three-day, two-night trip in Wuyi.

There are many ancient villages in Zhejiang. This time they came to Wuyi County and entered Yuyuan Taiji Xingxiang Village. The village is not particularly large, but it is very big. The village was designed and built by the celestial astrology in the Ming Dynasty. There are more than 300 ancient buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The wood carvings, brick carvings and stone carvings in the ancient buildings are exquisite, and the cultural heritage is profound. It is a classic relic of the ancient ecology "Heaven and Man", and is also a good place for exploring ancient and leisure. The aerial photography of the "Taiji Map" in the village is particularly spectacular.
