Red Roof Inn Pittsburgh North - Cranberry Township

My wife and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Cranberry Township while in the Pittsburgh area as part of a multi-state fall color trip. We arrived at about 5:30 p.m. on a Wednesday. The front desk clerk spoke with a heavier accent that was a little difficult to understand at times. The experience however improved from here as the room and the property overall was in very good condition. It had an on-site guest laundry which came in handy for us to do some laundry on a longer trip; the clerk was able to give us change, as we had somehow managed not to acquire a lot of change for as far into the trip as we usually do. The property is very close to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and you will hear noise from the Turnpike throughout the night as traffic apparently never drops off much along this highway, however it was not a major distraction.

Found this gem on our way to Michigan. Lovely area with plenty of micro-breweries to explore and a cool restaurant next door. The folks that work there are extremely friendly and welcomed us back when we made our way home a few days later. We made full use of the fitness center and would have enjoyed the pool if we had remembered our suits (next time!). We saw many staff members working to keep everything in nice condition. We’ll be back!

We stayed for a get away weekend, and the hotel is great! They have a large lobby that is comfy and spacious for relaxing with a group. Our only issue was the presence of several loosely supervised hockey teams(the Lemieux sports complex is very close). However, hotel staff did their best to keep things under control and we very much appreciated it. We would definitely stay here when returning to the area.

I stayed at this property in April 2030, and had a few issues, but thought I would give it another try. The General Manager’s response to my prior review asked that I “offer us another chance to truly win you over.” I did and unfortunately, it did not go well. The good. The hotel is in a great location, easily accessible from Interstate 79, and located next to plenty of restaurants and shopping areas. Mobile check-in was a breeze, the mobile key worked great, complimentary parking, and the member's lounge (and the gentleman responsible for its upkeep) were fantastic. The first thing I do when checking in is inspect the room for cleanliness. The last time I stayed here the metal ***** located in the shower was filthy. Once again, I checked this same area and it was nastier than the last time I stayed. I wiped a small area and the washcloth ended up black. I am sorry but I do not want to stand in a shower with the filth of all the room occupants that came before me. I took the ***** with me to the front desk when I went to ask for another room. I also asked to speak with the manager since this cleanliness issue appears to be a trend. While the AGM ‘said’ all the right things, his demeanor and body language clearly conveyed he did not care and had more pressing things to worry about. He did state that this situation was an anomaly. They offered me another room and asked that I wait while housekeeping went and gave it an extra cleaning. After 20 minutes I went to the new room and discovered the exact same problem, filthy grill plate, so much for this being an anomaly. I returned to the front desk and the staff member stated she had sent me to the wrong room and gave me the key to a third room. This room was spotless. I would like to commend the staff member working the front desk. Throughout the entire ordeal, she repeatedly expressed empathy, apologized for the situation, and showed genuine concern for resolving the situation. Her actions were what I would have expected from the AGM. Full disclosure, they both offered comps which I declined. What I wanted was to check in to a comfortable and clean room…not extra bonus points. Two stays and two bad experiences. Apparently, the responses to these reviews are to show concern to others who might consider this property.

A few times a year I will go to Steelers games, and this Cranberry location is a perfect way to avoid the over inflated hotel rates of the downtown hotels closer to the stadium. Easy to get there though, as you hop on the highway and are at the stadium in 20 minutes. Of course, the hotel is awesome, close to a lot of restaurants and stores. What more can I say? Just stay here!

The staff were super helpful, the front desk person gave us so much good advice and helped us with getting around the city with recommendations. Breakfast was good, staff very nice, very clean area. Same menu everyday basically. The patio for grilling was well used and nice. A very nice lady on staff helped us with the grill. Good pool, a little cold.
