Asakusa is the birthplace of Tokyo. Asakusa Temple is the oldest temple in Tokyo. It is rumored that in 628, a pair of fishing brothers found Guanyin video in Suedachuan, thinking that it is "Guanyin manifests the spirit". So people built a temple in the local area to worship Guanyin. Asakusa Temple is also known as the Asakusa Leimen Guanyin Temple. In the Edo era, Tokugawa Kakang designated Asakusa Temple as a place of worship for Tokugawa Shogunate, and the Asakusa Temple area gradually prospered. Especially around New Year's Day every year, the incense guests who come to worship are crowded, and the annual tourists are more than 40 million, ranking first in Tokyo.

Went here with a friend and walked around the place. It was a good place because of so many food that you can try. A bit crowded though but it was fun.
