Madrid Plaza de la Villa, which was built in the 16th century and is the office of the city government, was named after it. Until the city moved to West Belles Plaza in 2008, a museum was set up here. The House and Tower of Luhanes, a Mudhal-style building built in the 15th century, is now the Royal College of Moral Science and Politics. The Marquis Alvaro statue stands in the square and the Cisneros House.
