No, not true. Yes, the view is magnificent, but the same can be said for every other mountain in the Engadine or the Alps. It's the food and the service that really, truly make this a magnificent place. And it is, the food we had was exceptional, the service impeccable, and their wine selection impressive. This is and always has been one of my favorite places to go to when I visit my dad's. The 15' trek by cable car up the steep mountain slope, to get to this unique view, and the amazing food and drink. It's totally worth it, every time. A tip: Make reservations, and make them early to get a window table or a table in the first place. This place is busy, every night!

During our annual ski holidays in Engadin a dinner on top of Muottas Muragl is always a highlight. The panorama throughout the valley is breathtaking particularly on a cold winter night just after sunset, or in the night under the stars. But that's not all. The Romantik Restaurant is one of the very best in the region with fantastic food and impeccable service. All of this doesn't come cheap but it's absolutely value for money. We plan to return many more times.

I was here for the fourth time and once again wasn't disappointed. The restaurant serves a selection of local specialities as well as uncommon dishes with fresh local products and traditional evergreens. They pay special attention also to diverse vegetarian, vegan and/or lactose-free combinations that satisfy also carnivores like me. The hotel/restaurant itself is a zero-energy building using a lot of gorgeous smelling wood in a modern design setting without this dreadful "chalet style" found in other touristic regions. Make sure not only to dine but to stay overnight in the hotel, having a delicious breakfast and being the first on the sled run down to the valley. (Unfortunately this time the sled run was closed due to low snow conditions.) A plus for Internet-addicts: Seamless Wifi without password available at reasonable speed inside and outside the building. Others can learn from them how to do it "comme il faut".

The location of this restaurant is unique and the view spectacular. This was my third visit and a very kind friend invited us for my birthday celebration. Sadly, although we enjoyed the experience of being there, the food let us down badly and on occasion was inedible. Two of us had a very nice green salad as a starter and one of us had an acceptable cream of celery soup. My two friends who live in Switzerland were enormously looking forward to the local dish of PIZZOCCHERI a Veltiner traditional pasta dish with vegetables and cheese which is very tasty.... What was presented on this occasion bore absolutely no relation to what was expected and was tastless in the extreme as well as being expensive..... The Pene "Norma"with tomato, ricotta and aubergines came with an infinitessimal amount of aubergine, this was somehow rectified when I asked for more aubergine. The service was good and they did have the good grace, when we complained, to charge us only for one portion of PIZZOCCHERI and offer the coffees on the house, which showed good will on their part and was appreciated. In conclusion, this is definitely a very special place but the food needs to be improved.
