The Tirol Museum of Folk Art was built in 1553-1563. It was first a monastery. It was transformed into a school in 1785 and became a State Museum after 1829. The main building of the museum is Renaissance style, and the multi-arcade in the courtyard is a typical representative. As the most beautiful museum in Europe, there are treasures with strong ethnic flavor in the Alps: living room, national costumes, masks and the manger for the birth of Jesus. Many exhibits show people the rich and colorful national culture of Tirol.
