Zhafudong is located in Geleshan, Chongqing, originally a small coal kiln mined by artificial mining, named for the lack of coal and more slag. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and a ditch on one side. In 1943, after Bai Mansion was changed to the "China-US Cooperation Institute", the army and the general agents forced the occupation of Zhafudong coal kiln, set up a detention center, and held revolutionary volunteers. In 1956, the former site of Zhaludong was identified as the key cultural relics for protection at the provincial level, and in 1988 it was designated as the key cultural relics for protection nationwide, and it was opened to the outside world free of charge.
