The hotel itself is well located and has a certain charm. The furniture is quite old, but in a way it adds character to the place. The staff we interacted with were generally kind and polite. However, we had a very upsetting experience with the Ramadan buffet restaurant. We arrived at the hotel around 6:00 PM after a long day of travel with two flights (Phuket to Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi). My mother had been fasting all day for Ramadan and had not eaten or drunk anything. When we saw that the restaurant was preparing the Ramadan buffet, my mother sat down hoping to break her fast there. Unfortunately we were refused and told that reservations had to be made one day in advance. This was very surprising for us, as we had just arrived in the country and could not possibly have reserved the day before. We were directed to another nearby restaurant, but after waiting more than one hour we still had not received any food. During that time my mother — who had been fasting all day — still had nothing to eat, and my two-year-old child was crying because he was hungry. In the end, my mother was only able to eat about two hours after the time of breaking the fast. Aside from this very difficult experience, the hotel itself is pleasant and the staff are friendly. However, I hope the management will consider being more flexible and understanding in situations like this, especially for guests observing Ramadan and families traveling with young children.

Best beach view but like the rest of Langkawi it’s just missing a few things. The family pool is sensational…but it’s pebblecrete, so it’ll tear up feet if you’re in there doing anything active. The pool bar opens at midday, so it’s definitely not set for early swimmers who might want a juice and snack. No lifeguard and almost no kids pool area. The pool was 1.1 to 1.5m deep so not toddler friendly. The rooms were great but limited lift access so a nice 3rd floor view has three flights of stairs. They have a reading room, which is a nice, air-conditioned lounge, but it only opens at 11am. The main restaurant has… average food. It’s not what you’d hope. They have the Chefs Table Restaurant wich was more expensive but actually had good food. It was hot in there though. We went in end of March and it was 32/32 degrees every day. Overall it’s a nice place and close to the mangrove tours but it just falls short of being really good. But that’s pretty much all of Langkawi. Staff were really nice.

The hotel overall was quite decent. The family room was spacious, which made the stay comfortable for us, and the location was convenient as well. However, the bed was too hard for our liking, which affected our sleep quality. The biggest issue, though, was a shocking experience—we had a baby snake enter our room. It really scared us, even though it was small. Because of this, I would say the hotel might appeal more to those who enjoy being close to nature and don’t mind the occasional surprise. For others, especially families with young children, it may not be the most suitable choice.

Nice hotel with real potential, but it feels neglected and needs maintenance. The rooftop pool is pleasant with great views, though the big umbrella is very rusted and it closes at 7 pm, a bit too early. The room was excellent: large, spacious and really beautiful. Breakfast is a highlight, very good selection and the pancakes were outstanding. Staff is hit or miss: some are friendly and helpful, others seem bored and uninterested. The rooftop restaurant idea is nice, but service was poor. We waited a full hour for dinner while later arrivals got served first, very frustrating. Overall: good bones, great room and breakfast, but inconsistent service and visible wear and tear hold it back. Could be excellent with some care.

Great value for money. The hotel seems to be an older property that's been renovated. Some facilities (like the bathroom) are a bit basic, but overall it's clean and functional. The staff are super friendly, and it's really convenient for getting to the beach and restaurants.

Overall, our stay at Pelangi Beach Resort in Langkawi was pleasant, but it did not fully meet the expectations of a five-star property, especially considering the price. The resort itself is beautiful in terms of location: the gardens are well maintained, and the beachfront is very enjoyable. However, the structure is starting to feel a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. Our main disappointment was the room condition. The curtain next to the air conditioning unit was in very poor shape—stained and almost moldy—which was quite off-putting. The air conditioning system itself seemed old, very noisy, and difficult to regulate, making it hard to find a comfortable temperature (either too cold or too warm). On a positive note, the staff was truly outstanding—everyone was kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Service is definitely a strong point of this resort. Breakfast was also enjoyable, particularly at the Malaysian restaurant, where the food quality felt more authentic and satisfying. In conclusion, while the experience was overall good, the resort feels somewhat overpriced for what it currently offers. With some improvements and updates, it could truly match its five-star positioning. At this price point, however, we would probably consider other options next time.

The hotel is beautiful, calm, and clean...perfect for total relaxation. Friendly staff, stunning pool, and peaceful vibe. The location is a bit inconvenient: it's up on a hill, so you need a car every time you arrive or leave. No fridge in the room, noticeable lack of privacy (the layout surrounds the central pool like a theater/amphitheater, with rooms openly overlooking the pool area from all sides), and due to the shape, parts of the hotel are shaded by the surrounding buildings for half the day, limiting sun exposure. Perfect if you want to disconnect and unwind; not great for frequent beach trips, full privacy, or all-day sunshine. I loved my days here. Pure relax.

Hotel is 15 floors. Check in to room with sea view on 11th floor - big, clean carpeted, separate shower and tub. Lobby pretty big with restaurant, meeting room, tour guide and a bistro. Welcome drink is a choice of fruit juice or beer at bistro. Also included is a high tea voucher for following day. Took a short walk and found a variety of different food places around - malay, Indian, Korean, Japanese and a tze char joint as well. A lot of different varieties of shops and duty free shops as Langkawi is a duty-free island where alcohol is cheaper than soft drinks. Many seafood joints around within 0.6 to 14 km radius.

This is a beautiful resort with three swimming pools, including one specifically for children, and they provide plenty of balls and swimming rings. It's located on Cenang Beach and Central Beach, which boasts a long coastline perfect for swimming. There are many restaurants nearby, including one that's particularly delicious and serves generous portions. A convenience store and swimwear shop are just a ten-minute walk away. There's also a shopping mall about a thirty-minute walk, making it a very lively area with various travel agencies and car rental services. The hotel is very environmentally friendly, providing water in glass bottles.
