The Temple of Heaven, located in the southern part of Beijing, the capital of China, was where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped the gods of heaven and earth and prayed for good harvests. It is also the world's largest and best-preserved ancient complex for worshipping heaven. Construction of the Temple of Heaven began in the 18th year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1420). Along with the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace, it is one of China's three major World Cultural Heritage sites, a treasure of Chinese civilization, and holds profound historical and cultural significance.
Tiananmen Square in Beijing, located in the center of China's capital city, is one of the nation's most important historical and cultural sites. As the world's largest urban square, Tiananmen Square serves not only as a national symbol of China but also as a popular attraction that draws numerous citizens and visitors.
The construction of The Palace Museum began during the Yongle era of the Ming Dynasty. After Emperor Chengzu Zhu Di moved the capital to Beijing, he decided to build a new imperial palace here to demonstrate the majesty of imperial power. Starting in 1406, after 14 years of meticulous design and construction, The Palace Museum was largely completed in 1420. Since then, as the imperial palace of both the Ming and Qing dynasties, it witnessed countless historical events and transitions. It wasn't until the 1911 Revolution when Puyi, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty, announced his abdication that The Palace Museum ended its historical role as an imperial palace.
