A booking confirmation arrives by email. It contains a personal PNR booking code. Next, at the vaporetto station, we found a VENEZIA UNICA ticket machine, selected "Activate Online Ticket," entered the received PNR, and the machine issued tickets. It's important to look for a VENEZIA UNICA machine specifically, as there's another carrier there that doesn't activate tickets. We bought a single ticket. If you live in central Venice, there's no point in buying a ticket for 2-3 days. Experience shows that you can walk everywhere, and the ticket simply isn't used as often as you pay for it.★

It was best to buy a ticket online in advance, then scan the QR code at the kiosk at the stop to receive a paper ticket. I highly recommend purchasing one. And riding the Veperetto is a unique experience, just like taking a tour of the Grand Canal.
