Itinerary
Lake Como has been photographed millions of times. This full-day tour from Milan shows you why — and then takes you somewhere the cameras haven't found yet.

The day begins at Milan's central station, where the train follows the eastern shore of the lake. No traffic, no highway, no bus. The mountains drop sharply to the water, the first villages appear through the window, and the lake announces itself before you've finished your coffee.

Varenna comes first — one colorful waterfront street, perfect reflections, and the kind of light that makes every photo look effortless. Around 1.5 hours here: enough to wander the shoreline path, find a good angle, and understand immediately why this village has its reputation.

Then Bellagio — the village everyone comes to Lake Como to find. Historic center, panoramic viewpoints above the water, narrow streets that lead somewhere worth going. Around 2 hours of free time: enough for lunch, a proper walk, and a coffee with a view that explains why people keep coming back.

From Bellagio, the tour continues by boat. The cruise to Bellano passes elegant villas, terraced gardens, and mountain reflections that shift with the light — your guide bringing the history and character of the lake to life as the shoreline passes.

The stop that sets this tour apart waits at the end of that crossing. Most visitors to Lake Como never hear of Bellano. The Bellano Gorge is a natural canyon carved by centuries of flowing water — suspended walkways wind through narrow rock walls, above turquoise pools and cascading waterfalls. The rock closes in above you, the water rushes below, and for a moment Lake Como feels like an entirely different place. No other tour includes it. Once you've seen it, you'll understand why it should.

The return to Milan departs from Bellano — a quiet station, no crowds, a relaxed end to a full day.

Train from Milan, boat cruise from Bellagio to Bellano, suspended walkways above the gorge — all transport and timings pre-arranged throughout. Maximum 15 guests. Expert English-speaking guide. Return to Milan by 6pm.
