Things to do in Fuzhou

The 68-nautical-mile scenic area is well worth a visit. It's the closest point between mainland China and Taiwan. Be careful not to cross the yellow lines marked in the scenic area, as it can be dangerous. The staff are very responsible and will blow whistles to warn you if you cross the yellow lines. It's a great place for taking photos, and it's not too hot to walk around in the scenic area right now.

The location is superb, right next to the Longmen Transfer Center. You can go canyoning right outside the hotel, and it's quite close to Longmen Pool. The hotel is also very clean. Although it was raining, the room was very dry, not as damp as I had imagined. I especially loved the terrace; the view was amazing in the morning. The food was also good, quite tasty, although eating in the scenic area is generally expensive, but that's understandable. I'd definitely book here again next time I visit.

The entrance fee to this scenic area left me feeling a bit confused. Hmm, maybe it's because it's a bit dangerous? Is it to control the number of visitors?! The location is indeed quite precarious. I only took some photos at the mountain pass and then left… It was too sunny… Climbing up and down was exhausting… The round-trip electric shuttle bus was 8 or 9 RMB, I can't quite remember, but it was worth it. It takes a little time to walk, but you can walk too. I observed that it was mostly shady… Pingtan is really hot… The little shop I visited recommended a coffee shop with air conditioning to cool down; it was just too hot…

Seafood Restaurant (小白楼) has an excellent reputation. The owner is honest and transparent, with clearly marked prices to avoid overcharging. Seafood is caught daily, ensuring freshness and plumpness. The cooking methods are authentic and flavorful, with dishes like boiled shrimp and steamed crab bursting with sweetness. Local snacks are also authentically flavorful. Portions are generous, and the price is great. They even offer free guided tours to see the bioluminescent plankton (blue tears), making it a reliable choice for seafood in Pingtan. Gushan Mountain is majestic and serene, with winding hiking trails and ancient temples nestled among the trees. From the summit, you can enjoy panoramic views of Fuzhou, including the river and city. The air is fresh, making it a great place for leisurely hiking and relaxing. It combines cultural and natural beauty for a truly pleasant experience. Beibu Gulf Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Youth Hostel boasts a clean and comfortable environment, spacious and cozy common areas, complete facilities, and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It offers great value for money. Located right next to the sea view and ecological corridor, it's conveniently situated and an excellent choice for accommodation and socializing for young people on the northern route of Pingtan.

I've always made it a habit to take my kids to visit the local museum whenever we visit a new city! This time, my kids and their teachers visited the Fuzhou Museum! We were lucky enough to book a guided tour with "Bangtang Hong"—she's beautiful, patient, and meticulous with our group of children, and her cultural knowledge is solid and profound! You could feel her sincerity towards us tourists from out of town, and she even gave us extra explanations to expand our knowledge! In short, it was an absolutely worthwhile experience and a perfect guided tour! 💖👍👍👍👍👍 It allowed both children and adults to experience a different kind of cultural history! Thank you, Hong! This trip to Fujian was incredibly rewarding. First, I visited the Shangxiahang Historical and Cultural District, with its ancient brick houses, flowing water, and vibrant old Fuzhou atmosphere. Strolling along the ancient streets allowed me to experience the history of Fujian merchants, and the night view was particularly atmospheric – definitely worth exploring in detail. Afterwards, I went to Beibu Gulf in Pingtan to see the sea, and both the food and accommodation were surprisingly pleasantly surprising. For dining, I recommend Xiaobailou Seafood Restaurant, the only seafood restaurant in Beibu Gulf, run by three veterans – a reliable and trustworthy business. The seafood was fresh, authentic, and retains its original flavor. The owner was warm and attentive, not pushy with orders, and even offered helpful travel tips, making my seafood meal worry-free and enjoyable. After dinner, I checked into the Beibu Gulf Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Youth Hostel. The location was excellent, the environment was clean and tidy, and the common areas had a great atmosphere. It was a great place to meet travel buddies from all over and exchange travel tips. The rooms were great value for money, and it was very convenient for getting around. From the charming old streets of Fuzhou to the stunning blue seascape of Pingtan, this itinerary offers a complete experience, including strolling through ancient streets, savoring fresh seafood, and staying in comfortable hostels. It's a highly recommended combination for any trip to Fujian.

There are no activities during the day, and it gets very hot in the summer, so you can come in the evening. The evening shows are more exciting, and the performances are all after 7:30 PM. There are no buses at night, so you have to take a ride home yourself!

The Lin Zexu Memorial Hall is solemn and dignified, with detailed historical materials that allow visitors to deeply feel the patriotism and love of this national hero. The rich cultural atmosphere makes it well worth a visit. Seafood at Xiaobailou offers fresh, live seafood prepared to order, with authentic and delicious flavors. Prices are clearly marked, and the owner is warm and honest, making for an excellent dining experience. Shuangchuang Youth Hostel is clean and tidy, with a cozy environment, comfortable beds, and a thoughtful owner who shares practical travel tips. It offers excellent value for money. Overall, the trip was fulfilling and enjoyable; highly recommended!

Longwangtou Beach boasts a wide expanse of fine sand, making it especially pleasant for watching the sunrise and wading in the waves. I specifically booked accommodation near Xiaobailou Seafood Restaurant in Pingtan. ⚠️Note: There's only one branch in Beibu Gulf, no other branches. The restaurant is run by three veterans; the seafood is fresh and authentic, and the owner is incredibly friendly and attentive. I stayed at the Beibu Gulf Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Youth Hostel, which was conveniently located, clean, and had a great hostel atmosphere where I met many fellow travelers. After enjoying the sea view, I ate seafood – a one-stop shop for food, accommodation, and entertainment. It was a great travel experience, highly recommended for anyone visiting Pingtan!
