It is not only a thousand-year-old temple but a large and fully-developed tourist area. In addition to the famous Maitreya statue and the 5-story Dafo Hall, there are more than 10 scenic spots such as the Wood Fossil Dinosaur Park, the Shuanglin Grottoes and the Legend of the Condor Heroes Village (which is modeled after the famous Chinese novel of the same name). At the Qianfo temple, a short way northwest of the Dafo Temple, there are more than a thousand small Buddha statues dating back more than a thousand years.Show Less
