Dangar Island is a 29-hectare (72-acre) forest island located on the Hawkesbury River in northern Sydney. Dangar Island is a suburb of Hornsby Shire , Hornsby County, with 267 people at the 2011 census and an increase in holidays. The island is serviced by Brooklyn Ferry Brooklyn Ferry Service , and it takes about 15 minutes to depart from Brooklyn. Brooklyn Ferry is located next to Hawkesbury River Railway Station Hawkesbury River Station . The ferry is open 7 days a week, fare: 7 Australians/one way for adults; 3 Australians/one way for children/old people. Depending on the time, the ferry goes directly to Dangar Island, and then to Wobby Pier, and then to Dangar Island. It takes only 15 minutes to go directly to the island, otherwise it takes 30-40 minutes, and it will be the same. For thousands of years, Dangar Island has been known to the local Guringai indigenous people. The first European to visit the region was Governor Arthur Phillips, who explored the lower river in a boat a few weeks after the arrival of the First Fleet in March 1788, and named the island as salmon island because of the abundance of fish on the Hawkesbury River. The island was purchased and renamed in 1864 by the son of the then surveyor, herder and member of parliament, Henry Dangar , and later leased by Dangar to the Chicago Union Bridge Company Union Bridge Company of Chicago for the construction of the original Hawkesbury River railway bridge between 1886 and 1889. About 400 Americans and their families lived there, and the island had a large social space, school, library and its own newspaper. By the 1920s, the island, which was only a five-minute walk away, was divided into residential areas, although there was space on the beach, apartments and the top of the hill for recreation. The Dangar Island Post Office opened on September 1, 1951, but closed in 1986. Dangar Island has a relatively large population compared to the surrounding area known as the National Park, which has several asphalt roads, but is not allowed to pass except for community fire engines, councils and vehicles with special permits. There are no private cars on the island, and unicycles are used to transport goods from ferries or pick up and drop off visitors. Dangar IslandThe address of the pure natural island in Brooklyn: Hawkesbury River, Brooklyn, Hornsby, New South Wales, Australia [Go to Dangar Island by boat] Dangar Island is a forest island in Sydney. I was strolling around Michael Park and suddenly it rained heavily, so I had to hurry to the ferry terminal to wait for the boat to hide from the rain. Just entered the dock waiting hall, there was an aunt sitting in it, I asked her if she was taking a boat here to Dangar Island, the aunt was still very enthusiastic, told me to wait here, the next boat has 20 minutes, I want to see the timetable. I took a look. The ferry here is directly to Dangar Island, and there is also a wobby pier first, and then to Dangar Island. I took the ferry directly to Dangar Island, which only took 15 minutes to arrive. [Dangar Island Travel] I watched the ferry slowly approaching the Dangar Island pier. At this time, the rain was very small. Dangar Island I was surprised. The environment before I landed on the island was what I didn’t expect, just like a natural village, but the houses here have their own characteristics and will not look very old. But there is no too modern design, and the environment is perfectly integrated with Dangar Island, forming a unique scenery on the island. Walking on the island, there are sky trees everywhere, there is also an upward plank road, it is not difficult to climb, walking here is natural oxygen. When I returned to the dock of Dangar Island, there were several boats floating on the sea like small cruise ships, which should be the boats that locals traveled by themselves. With the light rain floating in the sky, the Dangar Island at this moment is more like landscape paintings of ink, which seems to have meaning.
A magical forest and the island in the afternoon in a boring Laidu brushed Weibo, suddenly saw a very interesting place, a forest island, which made me feel very strange, always thought that the forest is only a forest and the island is only an island, I didn't expect there to be a place to combine the two, which simply aroused my strong curiosity, so I packed my bags and set off on this unique forest island, which is Brooklyn. Unique and wonderful experience When I arrived at this forest island, I felt unable to feel my head. The scene of forests and beaches made me not know where to play for a while, so I first stepped into this small island, although it is a small island, but everything is available. The island is divided into residential areas, in addition to the mountaintops and beaches there are a variety of places for people to relax. Continue to go on and there is a very distinctive and quiet asphalt road, it is said that the most special of this forest island is that the entire island is not private car. What a wonderful place! Tips There are still many residents in the whole attraction, and everyone is still a common safety problem when traveling!
