Buried treasures at Kofun are exhibited
This museum exhibits many treasures buried in the ancient tombs in the 5th to 7th centuries. Some of them are valued as Japanese national treasures. You may see how the powerful people in the area we...
It is probably not the biggest attraction Saitama, however if you are in the area and have a bit of interest in (Japanese) history, it's definitely worth to visit. The museum has English brochure, but...
As a great fan of archaeology, I've appreciated the visit to this museum. The works presented are from the searches of the Kofun all close to, and although there is no English translation ...
It is said that it is a stone chamber that was made so that multiple burials can be buried, which is called a horizontal hole type, but the stone chamber is open to the public, and I think that there are few other facilities like this. It's a pity that there are few explanations from the photos and situations at the time of excavation, probably because of the stolen traces, but this one is farther away from the annex than the main museum. It was an interesting exhibition hall.
The location of the parking lot is difficult to understand. If you park near the Shogunyama Kofun tumulus, you will have to walk about a kilometer to the museum. JAF Discount available, PayPay compatible 120 yen. Close-up photography is prohibited in the National Treasure Exhibition Room, photography from the top of the glass case is prohibited for safety of materials!
