About 200m straight west from Horyuji Nishidaimon, there is a townscape of Nishisato where the clay walls and private house buildings continue. Nishisato is a village where people who support Horyuji 々 live, and it is said that a carpenter who was involved in Horyuji's work lived. I walked leisurely and enjoyed the elegant townscape.
If you visit for the purpose of this landscape, it may be a little ガッカリ, but if you plan to visit [Fuji ノ Ki Kofun] or [Ikaruga Town Cultural Property Utilization センター], we recommend this via here.

[Nishisato Townscape] refers to the old townscape on the left and right of the road with a length: about 200m Width: about 3m starting from [Horyuji] [Saidaimon] and continuing westward. Line up along all roads Since there is no such thing as this, it may be a little ガッカリ if you visit for the purpose of this landscape. However, if you plan to visit [Fuji ノ Ki Kofun] or [Ikaruga Town Cultural Property Utilization センター] [Nishidaimon] Get out and pass through here ...
Mr. Joichi Nishioka, who was called the last palace carpenter. Looking at some of his books, which were exclusively palace carpenters at Horyuji Temple, depicts his life as a palace carpenter in Nishisato. Sometimes I didn't understand it by technique, and when I asked my grandfather, he said, "Go see Horyuji." The area is a village where people such as Miya carpenters live 々 who support Horyuji Temple. The earthen wall continues from Nishidaimon Gate, and when you pass through the road, you will find the Fujinoki Kofun Tumulus. It's not a tourist spot, but the person in charge of the construction of Horyuji Temple 々 houses line up ...
After visiting Horyuji Temple, we went out of Saidaemon. Before Saidaemon, there was a townscape of Saisato, with yellowish clay walls. There was a similar yellowish clay wall at Horyuji Temple, so it was a city with a sense of unity.
It is a place that makes you realize that the area around Horyuji Temple is a venerable city that has been around for a long time. It is interesting to have old-fashioned houses and walls.
