I purchased an e-gift voucher for £50 online, from Curzon Cinemas. I wanted it for a gift for my daughters son for her birthday today. I purchased it on 20th March and it still hasn't been received in my hotmail email account. I checked the email last night, intending to print off the gift voucher to give her today. There were no emails from Curzon, though their Curzon new account email was there, so emails can get through hotmail. I tried to contact their customer service number all evening, and first thing this morning, it didn't ring out, no message facility. I eventually got through to a lady in customer services this morning. She told me that they often have a problem with hotmail, and hotmail filters, and she was not able to re-send the email. I told her I had other email address that were not hotmail, and she said she was not able to re-send the e-mail to them, and the only thing she could do was to issue a refund, which I would receive next week. She suggested I place the order again using another non hotmail email address. I'm afraid I don't have confidence in this company now to place that order a second time. I have had the embarrassment now of having to send £50 in cash over to my sons girlfriend with sincere apologies, trying to explain that I did pre-plan this birthday gift and what happened. Please don't trust purchasing e-gift vouchers from Curzon. I have to say in all fairness, that whilst their customer service team were less than helpful, I contacted the Curzon Cinema at Knutsford, who were very helpful to the contrary. They offered to let me pick up an actual gift voucher hard copy from them. My difficulty for this, is I am in Chester, they are in Knutsford and I now don't have time to travel there and back before meeting my inlaws for the Birthday celebrations today. So the review is balanced to be fair to that kind lady at the Knutsford cinema.
