Lake Rausu is the first scenic spot you can meet after continuing on the walking path from National Highway 334. Meri Observatory is a major tourist destination, but if you go further and pass through several small swamps, you will find Lake Rausu. It is a natural tama surrounded by mountains 々. It is a scenery that you can meet only because you have walked sweaty.
A bus stop is built, the entrance is easy to understand, and where is the former unexplored region? Even though it is a national park, I am taking the trouble to hit the high pine trees to make a new road. This is still a World Heritage Site.
I participated in the Lake Rausu trekking on the Nihon Maru tour. The weather was nice and the view of Lake Rausu from Sannonuma was wonderful. Trekking in boots is my first experience. (There is a muddy place on the way, so can't I help it?) It was a little difficult for the guide to walk quite quickly and follow me on the way back. Lake Rausu, with Gononuma and Mt. Chinishi Betsu in the background, was also a view of 々. I came back in about 3 hours round trip. Finally, the entrance to Lake Rausu Ba ...

Although access has become much more convenient, it is still a charming mountain as a rare nature without a sense of human life in Hokkaido.
