Lu Simian (1884-1957), courtesy name Chengzhi, was a native of Changzhou and a modern historian. The former residence was built for the Qing Dynasty on the hard mountain. It sits north and faces south. There are 21 rooms in four. The first entrance is the gate house, facing Shizi Street. The three entrances are the living room, the courtyard in front of the hall is decorated with flowers and trees, and there is a bedroom in each of the east and west. Lv Simian was born in the Xishou bedroom on the first day of February in the tenth year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty, where he lived and studied as a child. The four entrances are three rooms at the top and bottom of the building, and there is another wing in the east of the courtyard leading to the east bedroom. There are more than 20 boxes of books, paintings and daily necessities collected by Lv Simian. The former residence of Lv Simian faces south, with four entrances in total, with patios and flower beds in the middle of each entrance. The blue brick and powder walls, eaves and tiles, and wooden lattice windows give people an atmosphere of simplicity and elegance, and the fragrance of books overflows.
