Guest User: As a hotel boasting views, it would be great if the room windows could be cleaned more thoroughly with an automatic window cleaner, especially since the scenery is the main selling point. Also, it seems the hotel just opened and hasn't decided whether to be pet-friendly yet. I highly recommend they do! Dog owners who travel with their small dogs and are willing to spend more on good hotels usually have well-behaved pets, and are often very considerate. The views are, without a doubt, amazing, and the staff offers service with a smile. Afternoon tea can be delivered to your room, and you can enjoy the golden sunrise over the mountains right from your room. I hope the hotel continues to improve!

Guest User: There's breakfast and dinner dessert soup everyday. Tea time food only given once per stay. Love that they have bed warmers and oxygen machine in the room! It is right in front of the observation deck but not the popular/packed one. View from room balcony is so beautiful. No need to go out in the cold to watch the sunrise. Staff were all soft spoken and helpful!

Our room is directly facing Meili snow mountain 🏔️. Can take photos directly from the room. One of the unexpected facilities that the hotel provided was the floor also fitted with a heater. You will feel all the things in your luggage warm in the morning. I highly recommend staying here.

Guest User: I only stayed for one night because I was chasing the sunrise at Jinshan Peak. I booked an affordable bed, but to my surprise, it was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. For the price and the location with a view of the snowy mountains, it's absolutely fantastic! I'll definitely stay here again next time. Dining was also super convenient, right in the restaurant downstairs. Highly recommend! Plus, there's free parking, which is great for those traveling by car.

I traveled from afar, like a pilgrim, to keep an appointment with the snow mountain. Yet, among the Tibetan villages in the mountains, by the great rivers, and on the peaks of the snow mountains, I felt the quietness of the wind brushing past the prayer flags and the awe of those who have lived here for generations. Shangri-La is far more than just Meili Snow Mountain. [Songtsam Meili Loop] ⛰️ Benzilan ► A ferry crossing on the Ancient Tea Horse Road in the dry-hot valley. As a must-pass stop on the way to Meili, it is well worth a 1–2 day stay if you have enough time. Beyond the visually stunning Jinsha River Bend, there are wineries and Tibetan incense workshops that supply the temples... I personally prefer the primitive and natural Niding hike. With a Songtsam butler as a guide, we walked through valley wilderness, streams, pastures, and mossy forests 🌳, exploring the beautiful secret realms beneath the snow mountains. 🏔️ Meili Snow Mountain ► October–May is the best time to see the "Golden Mountain" sunrise. Whether at Gujiunong, Feilai Temple, or Wunongding, the sheer majesty of the sacred mountain is overwhelming and defies all description! Every room at Songtsam Meili Lodge faces the snow mountain directly. If the "Golden Mountain" sunrise occurs, the front desk will call to wake you up, boosting your travel happiness index 𝐮𝐩 𝐮𝐩 ⬆️. It even has a courtyard where we could sit by the fire and watch the stars in our spare time. After having a Tibetan meal in Dukezong Ancient Town, I saw some scenic views online and on a whim, my partner and I decided to drive there. It was winter, so the road conditions were quite dangerous. Because it was night, the roads were covered in black ice and snow. We didn't encounter many vehicles along the way, so it felt rather deserted, but thankfully we made it safely. We were also incredibly lucky to witness the sunrise over the sacred mountains—a sight I'd never seen before. I definitely want to see those sacred mountains again someday!

My first hike was supposed to be easy, but it took me four and a half hours to get to the village, a total elevation gain of 1700 meters. At an altitude of over 3000 meters, it gave me courage. The next day, I hiked 26km from the sacred waterfall to the village. Now I'm not afraid to climb any mountain on the plains anymore. The scenery after entering the village was unbeatable. However, with the road now open, I won't have to go through Ninong to get to the village anymore; I don't want to go through that ordeal again.

Comprehensive comments on Wunongding Observation Deck and Wunongding Village: First of all, Wunongding is Tibetan. This area is foggy, especially in summer. It is indeed very large, but it is not the literal meaning in Chinese. The original meaning is: "The place where Buddha was born". 1. Wunongding Observation Deck 1. Scenery: Not inferior to Feilai Temple Observation Deck. Feilai Temple Observation Deck is closer to the snow mountain, and can only see part of the snow mountain peaks (including the main peak). But the next morning, the fog was thick again, and I was left with a sense of loss. Perhaps it was fate that, at the urging of a friend, I took my child on a hike to Yubeng. When Meili Snow Mountain once again came into view, it suddenly felt as if it were calling me from afar. This time, the clouds and mist dissipated, and the grandeur of the golden mountain in the sun and the holiness of the endless snow-capped peaks all lay clearly before my eyes - finally, it was what I had dreamed of.

The restaurants in Lower Yubeng Village have a rather artsy vibe. We arranged to have dinner with the owner that evening – roasted milk by the snow mountain – which is quite close to the Sacred Waterfall route. Hikers in the silver-tonnage range might consider this route. It's quite beautiful; remember to bring wafers to feed the squirrels. In winter, it's easy to see the golden sunrise on the mountains.
