After strolling through the entire ancient street, the setting sun cast my long shadow across the mottled walls. Only then did I realize that the most moving scenery is always hidden in the everyday, in the quiet stillness of an old woman shelling edamame at her doorstep, in the nimble yet calloused fingers of hers. The aroma of local snacks wafting from the alleyway was a sweet fragrance with a hint of fermented rice and osmanthus, even more enticing than the "specialty snacks" described in travel guides. It was gentle and lingering, like a wisp of smoke, enveloping my steps. I followed the scent and saw an old woman stirring a pot of freshly cooked fermented rice balls. The broth bubbled and simmered, the golden osmanthus blossoms floating in the milky white liquid. The old woman served me a bowl. The broth was sweet and clear, the glutinous rice balls soft and chewy, with a subtle hint of wine. After drinking it, I felt pleasantly tipsy. The old lady, seeing how much I enjoyed it, smiled kindly and said she made it herself using osmanthus flowers from her backyard. That unreserved sharing was more genuine than any commercialized enthusiasm. I sat on the stone steps at the alley entrance, watching the sunset paint the old lady's white hair golden. Her figure, shelling edamame, looked exceptionally serene in the light and shadow. This peaceful scene was more moving than any scenic postcard. It made me realize that the soul of an ancient street lies not in its architecture, but in the people who live there. That alluring sweet aroma is the gentlest fragrance emanating from that soul.

The wind blows, the scenery brightens, and hearts are filled with joy. The sweetness of the journey outweighs all the weariness of the journey. This touching feeling comes from the transportation facilities that remain steadfast even in extreme weather. When torrential rain pours down or the wind howls, the widened and deeper rain shelters and warm, bright indoor waiting areas provide travelers with a safe haven, protecting them from the wind and rain. The timely activation of snow removal equipment and anti-slip facilities in icy and snowy weather, along with the tireless guidance and assistance of staff, makes what would otherwise be a difficult journey safe and orderly. These facilities and services, which play a crucial role in critical moments, may not be conspicuous in ordinary times, but they are like guardians of the city, protecting every traveler with their strong arms, making this kindness and warmth from an unfamiliar city especially precious and moving in the face of wind and rain.

The romance of travel often hides in the unwritten blank spaces of guidebooks. When we let go of our obsession with "must-see" spots, we stop framing every inch of the scenery through a camera lens.
