If you are ever in Osaka and have a few days to spare, highly recommend the Yamazaki distillery tour. Though it is on a ballot basis, if you are lucky enough to get a slot, do not skip it. For a slight cost of 3000yen, you get to see the whisky making process and see the oldest barrel ever used. You also get to try their whisky flight and also a chance to purchase some souvenirs from their gift shop and limited edition Yamazaki whisky that’s only sold at the tour. The 3000yen is well worth it for what you would get from the tour!
