When you think of the Cotswolds, the towns that likely come to mind first are Bourton-on-the-Water and perhaps Bibury. Because tour groups and some independent travel routes often connect Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, with Oxford, visiting these two is more convenient—not to mention that Bourton-on-the-Water is already famous. As for Broadway and Chipping Campden, they are tucked away on the northwestern and northern edges of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and lack rail connections, making them naturally harder to reach. However, the "relative obscurity" of Broadway and Chipping Campden not only means you don't have to rack your brain to find a photo spot amidst the crowds, but it also means the essence of these pastoral towns is much purer. 1. Travel highlights Chipping Campden has a market hall built in the first half of the 17th century. The building materials are the honey-colored stone characteristic of the Cotswolds, and the roof is supported by wooden herringbone trusses, rather than the arched wooden trusses common in large-span European architecture. The High Street in Chipping Campden retains its medieval-style architecture, and it is said that this landscape has not changed significantly since the 14th century. However, the street itself is still paved with standard asphalt. The town hall in Chipping Campden is next to the market, very small but charming. There is a library opposite the town hall, and free public restrooms nearby, which is very friendly for tourists. To visit the town's church, you need to leave the High Street and go via Church Street. This church, named "St. James," also has a honey-colored exterior, while the interior decoration is quite simple. The church has excellent lighting, making it feel bright and airy. Near the church, there is also a barn museum and some very "Cotswold" thatched cottages. The core landscape of Broadway still unfolds along the High Street. Unlike some other Cotswold towns, Broadway's High Street is relatively wide, lined with horse chestnut trees dotted with red flower towers, and the honey-colored buildings are shaded by the street trees. If you happen to be there in early May, you can experience the dreamy atmosphere created by wisteria in Broadway. Against the backdrop of sturdy vines and purple flower clusters hanging like grapes, the honey-colored buildings seem to hide their doors and windows, becoming dwellings for elves. Of course, there is also some wisteria in Chipping Campden. Broadway Tower is located on the outskirts of the town. You need to hike up the mountain or drive along a fairly long mountain road. The hiking route passes many pastures, where you can kindly greet Mr. and Mrs. Sheep who are "tasting dishes" or enjoying a feast. 2. Transportation Driving yourself might be a more suitable choice, but taking the bus is also feasible. Starting from or heading to Stratford-upon-Avon, you can take a Stagecoach bus to travel between Stratford-upon-Avon, Chipping Campden, and Broadway. You can download the bus company's mobile app in advance and choose a day pass like the "Day Rider." Although it's not cheap, the good thing is that you can hop on and off unlimited times. Theoretically, the day pass can be used until 4:00 AM the next day, but in reality, there is almost no chance to use it after the last bus of the day finishes operating. The Cotswolds span across counties like Gloucestershire, Somerset, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, and Oxfordshire. It covers a vast area, making it difficult to explore everything in one go. Therefore, it is important to choose Cotswold towns that suit your interests and itinerary. Chipping Campden and Broadway are relatively close to Stratford-upon-Avon, so you might consider visiting them together. In addition, the swans in Stratford are quite interesting. When someone is feeding them, they compete fiercely for food; when they see someone standing by the water, they will swim over elegantly to beg for food; if no one is feeding them, they will leave dejectedly. Of course, it is recommended not to feed outdoor animals when traveling abroad. In Stratford-upon-Avon, you can also look for the rare golden postbox and admire the literary giant and the characters he created.

If Nathan’s Famous is the hot dog icon of Coney Island, then Ruby’s Bar & Grill is the historic gem you can't afford to skip when strolling down the Boardwalk. Operating since 1934, this institution is perfectly positioned on the Coney Island beachfront, right near Luna Park and the Coney Island History Project. It’s the ultimate pit stop for a recharge while exploring the amusement park or enjoying a seaside stroll. What I love most is how it feels like a time machine back to classic Americana. Everything from the atmosphere to the food and the ocean views captures that nostalgic Coney Island spirit. 🌊 🇺🇸 Vintage Vibes Steeped in History The interior is a love letter to American Vintage, decked out with large American flags and walls lined with historical photos of Coney Island. It’s like dining in a living museum of the area's rich past. Adding to the charm is a classic jukebox and rows of wooden tables that can accommodate plenty of guests. The vibe is laid-back and unpretentious—exactly what you need after a day of thrill-seeking at the amusement park. 🌊 The Boardwalk Patio: A Must-Visit Spot If the weather is on your side, I highly recommend sitting outside. Grab a table under the signature blue umbrellas right on the Boardwalk. There’s nothing better than sipping a cold drink while people-watching, with the Coney Island Beach and Luna Park as your backdrop. It’s a simple yet incredibly atmospheric way to take a break. Bonus: The outdoor area is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friends along! 🐶🌊 🐟 Menu Highlights 🍋 Frozen Lemonade The perfect seaside treat for a hot day! It’s icy, perfectly sweet and tart, and incredibly refreshing. Plus, it’s served in a cup with the Ruby’s Coney Island logo, making it a very Instagrammable choice. 🐟 Fish & Chips Hearty portions of firm, flaky fish with a crispy golden batter and a hint of black pepper. It’s served with crinkle-cut fries and a trio of sauces—ketchup, mayo/tartar, and BBQ—allowing for a variety of flavors in every bite. 🍔 A Surprisingly Diverse Menu Beyond the fish and chips, Ruby’s serves up a wide range of American classics, including burgers, hot dogs, fried chicken, fried clams, fried shrimp, and fried calamari. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s soft-serve ice cream and funnel cakes. And for the adults, there’s a full bar to keep the good times rolling. 🎢 Why Ruby’s is Worth the Stop For me, the magic of Ruby’s isn't just about the food; it’s about the experience of dining in a piece of history amidst the vibrant energy of Coney Island. Hit Luna Park → Braven the rides → Walk the Boardwalk → Stop at Ruby’s for a cold drink and a meal → Soak in the ocean breeze. It’s the perfect travel rhythm that lets you see Coney Island as more than just a theme park. 🎡🌊 📍 Ruby’s Bar & Grill – Coney Island 📅 Serving since 1934 🎢 Steps from Luna Park 🌊 Located on the Coney Island Boardwalk 🐶 Pet-friendly outdoor zone If you find yourself at Coney Island looking for a place to relax with classic American fare and a cold drink by the sea, Ruby’s Bar & Grill absolutely belongs on your list. 🇺🇸🌊

Broadway Tower is located at the summit of Broadway Hill in Worcestershire, standing at an elevation of 312 meters. It is the second highest point in the Cotswolds and is known as the "Highest Castle in the Cotswolds" due to its fairy-tale appearance. This unique structure is an 18th-century folly, a tower built purely for decoration and viewing without any actual defensive function, and is now a Grade II listed building in the UK. 📜 A Legendary History A whimsical origin story: The tower was built from a romantic noble whim. Lady Barbara Coventry was curious whether a beacon lit on Broadway Hill could be seen from her home 22 miles (about 35 kilometers) away in Worcester. So the Earl funded the construction of the tower to verify this—and it was indeed clearly visible. The study of a printing magnate: From 1822 to 1862, the tower was used as a private printing press by Sir Thomas Phillips, a famous collector of manuscripts and books. A rural retreat for artists: In the 1870s, William Morris, the founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement, along with his Pre-Raphaelite artist friends Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones, lived here. It is said that the tower’s isolated beauty in the wilderness inspired Morris to later establish the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. From wartime lookout to Cold War bunker: During the two World Wars of the 20th century, the tower’s excellent vantage point made it a lookout post for the Royal Observer Corps to monitor enemy aircraft. During the Cold War, an underground nuclear bunker was built near the tower to monitor nuclear explosion effects. This bunker was decommissioned in 1991 and has since been restored and opened to the public.

#cityplaybook Tucked away in the gentle hills of Herefordshire, Brockhampton Estate is a timeless escape into England’s medieval past. This 600-year-old moated manor house, cared for by the National Trust, feels like a secret world — quiet, story-rich, and wrapped in nature’s embrace. Crossing the timber-framed gatehouse bridge into the manor felt like entering a living storybook. Lower Brockhampton is remarkably well-preserved, its whitewashed walls and ancient timbers standing beside a peaceful moat where ducks glide and reflections shimmer. The interiors are modest, echoing life from a simpler, agrarian time — complete with creaking floors and open hearths. Just beyond lies a ruined 12th-century chapel, now embraced by ivy and silence. It’s hauntingly beautiful — a place where time seems to slow. The orchard, dotted with traditional apple varieties, is a lovely spot to sit with a flask of tea or wander with camera in hand. And the woodland walks, especially through the surrounding Bromyard Downs, offer tranquil trails rich with birdsong, bluebells (in spring), and old oaks. What stayed with me? The stillness. It’s the kind of place that invites you to breathe deeper, linger longer, and imagine the lives once lived here. Best time to visit: Spring to early autumn — for blossom-filled orchards, vibrant forest paths, and dry weather for outdoor exploring. Getting there: Located near Bromyard, Herefordshire, with parking on-site. Best accessed by car. Visitor tip: Don’t miss the tea room — rustic and charming, with seasonal bakes and local produce. #BrockhamptonEstate #NationalTrust #HerefordshireWalks #MedievalManor #HiddenGemsUK #HistoricEngland #MoatedManor #CountrysideEscape #OrchardViews #TravelUK #EnglishHeritage #ForestWanderings #SlowTravel

Cathedral, a landmark of Worcester😊 You can see the cathedral, shop at Cathedral Square, eat delicious food, and take a walk at the nearby riverside:)
elloThis is quite a meaningful place, especially if you like Shakespeare. Shakespeare was a wealthy second-generation official in his early life, but his family fell on hard times, leading him to seek a living in London, where he rose to fame.
虚室生白666It was a great experience! We went on a Saturday, and there was a slight queue, but we only waited about five minutes to get in. Inside, you can learn about the history of chocolate, the origins of coffee beans, the chocolate production process, and some interesting facts. Several parts were particularly fun. First, there was a movie about Cadbury's history and development. You went into one theater and watched the movie before moving on to the next. Next was a 4D movie where you experienced the world of chocolate with glasses. Finally, you rode in a toy car and used a laser gun to fight monsters. Another attractive part was the tour of the chocolate-making process, where you could even try it yourself. The free tasting included three different toppings to add to the chocolate sauce – very delicious! The shopping area at the end was also nice. Oh, and they gave out a few free chocolates at the entrance, which my child loved. It was a truly great experience! 😊😊😊
